Arrived at 5:50 for a 6:00 reservation in order to finish by 7:30 for the show at the Fulton. Upstairs closed for renovations. Downstairs was fairly full and noisier than normal. Server took Longer than expected to take drink and food orders then got the drinks mixed up. There appeared to be only one server in our area until about 7PM. Food was cooked perfectly. What JefferyB doesn't like about Josephine's Downtown:
Overall we had a nice dinner and in general the food was very good, but this visit to Carr's was not quite up to what we have come to expect. We had two waiters and the first was slow and somewhat short with us. They were out of a wine we were going to order and a steak ordered medium well came out medium. Not our normal experience. The atmosphere was enchanting. The staff were friendly and relatable. The food was presented well. They truly care about your fine dining experience. We will come back again and again!
Beautiful and elegant restaurant if you like to dress this is the place to impress. Food was very tasty and good. Service was okay. The busboy was on top with the water. overall we take home a lovely time experience.
We visited on Valentine's Day and everything about the meal was perfect. From the live piano player, the wonderful food, and the great service, we would definitely recommend stopping by. I know we will be back in the future.
I was recently treated by a surprise birthday party at Josephine’s Downtown. The service was impeccable, no one waited for cocktails or dinners. The food presentation was spectacular, everything delicious and gaining many compliments from our guests. My favorite, the crab cakes were absolutely perfect. Some people got the rack of lamb and I was told that it was delicious and presented as beautiful standing racks. The decor is so glamorous, black and white photos of Hollywood stars mixed with gold fixtures. Josephine’s is gaining on being the best restaurant in Lancaster.
Loved this place. Elegant and secluded, complete with live piano in the background. The menu was a creative mix of new inventions and familiar favorites. The portions were restrained in size, and each dish was perfectly served. Skilled and attentive servers. This may be a new favorite.
