It 's got that early 80s feel in here and the prices definitely reflect that. The food is good and the atmosphere is fine. It feels 'safe. ' I think you would have to be here to understand that but you would. Staff is friendly. Parking is available right outside. Some places do not need to be modernized. It 's good to understand your market. The only drawback I see is not taking credit or debit cards. Yes, there is an ATM machine but although it 's cool to keep an old school vibe, we are still in 2019!! Nonetheless, looking fwd to dining here this next upcoming year! -Cory J
Cute little diner. Great service. Good food. Will definitely be returning in the future!
This place is pretty good. Food is hit or miss. I had some of the best eggs and sausage the first time I came. I had chicken noodle soup today and it was awesome. Salmon patties were okay, a little overdone for my taste. But, super cheap!
I had heard about this place when I worked in Lakewood years ago, but never made it out there. Yesterday my girlfriend and I were enjoying our rainy Sunday afternoon, and stopped by for a bite to eat. It is a cash only place, but you can easily eat for the $20 you will have to pull from a ATM. The pricing is super affordable, and there are plenty of classics to choose from. I went with fried chicken gravy, and my girlfriend got a hotcakes breakfast w/ chocolate milk. The cook on the eggs was great, and the chicken was super flavorful. My girlfriend cleaned up her plate, no problem, and I took some leftovers home. All in all we spent around $14. There is a lot of history with this place, and it is a quintessential greasy spoon. I love places like this, and if you fancy little dives and the like, John's Diner is for you!
John's Diner is a must-visit in Lakewood. The ambiance is ideal for a brunch with friends or family. The food is consistently fantastic, and the service is outstanding. I highly recommend John's to everyone I know! If you're in the area, be sure to stop by John's.
