It's a really great place to study or hang out to grab drinks and snacks. Staff is really chill about people spending hours just staying there to study. I've seen the staff even have her laptop on the front desk. Very clean and pleasant place to relax or get your education on. There are plugs at the long table and an extension cord for a few of the smaller tables. Ordered the mint chocolate frappe. It was really good... View all feedback.
What Brian M doesn't like about Drinking At The House:
As much as I want to give this place higher than three stars, I couldn't get pass the staff working the day my friends and I visited. We all felt that she hates her job as her attitude echoed throughout the place when we ordered. So we decided to order to go instead of spending time at this place. If there were other cafes around the area we would definitely skip this place. On the other side, this place is located n... View all feedback.
I was looking on yelp for a place that sells macarons as the establishment I used to go to for macarons Fusion Tea Bar) recently closed. Fusion had the best macarons I 've ever had. They were also bigger than your standard macarons for the same price, and they had so many amazing flavors! Sadly, I now need to find a different establishment to fulfill my macaron needs. Which brings me to this place. The service here was ok, but there was only one employee behind the counter so I imagine it would have been slower if the place wasn 't empty when I went. She also wasn 't that great at describing the desserts on the menu or her opinions of them when asked; she just kept saying it 's good to everything. I don 't know, maybe she was just the quiet type. I ended up getting a green tea macaron and two salted caramel macarons $2 each). They were soft, which I liked. Overall they were good but they weren 't blow-me-away amazing! I also wanted to get one of their ice cream sandwiches but today they only had an ice cream flavor that I don 't like so I opted against it. Their dessert selections seems to have been reduced since previous posts and pics. Overall the macarons were good but not omg delicious. On top of that, I wasn 't feeling the empty and dreary atmosphere, or the fact that the macarons had to be ordered after looking at a photo instead of having them on display, like most dessert shops. Suffice to say this will not be my new go-to macaron joint, and so the search continues!
After coming here a couple of times and trying a few drinks, I can say my all time favorite is the strawberry lychee tea. It has bits of lychee and strawberry in a mason jar without the taste of artificial sweeteners. I also like an iced organic tea, because their tea flavors are quite prominent and delicious. The Moroccan mint is a good choice. Otherwise, I've had their smoothies. The kiwi pineapple actually has a heavy taste of banana with a hint of the other fruit. They have a lot of banana smoothies, so it's possible banana is a common base. My friend got a milk tea, and she didn't like it that much, because it was too milky for her. I see gallons of fresh milk in the fridge, so I believe they do use real milk with fresh tea. This is a great place to study, because so far it's quiet with outlets. There is free wifi with a code, and the tables are wide. There are a few couches as well. The music is soft-medium volume kpop, top 40, or occasionally classical.
Pros: -Coffee is good -wifi -plenty of seating -They serve Bubbies Mochi Ice Cream from Hawaii -They have 15 or so flavors including Asian favorites like green tea, red bean, lychee, mango, sakura, tiramisu and passionfruit, and more standard flavors like strawberry, vanilla, and choco mint -They serve macarons in popular flavors like salted caramel, blueberry lavender, rose, green tea, earl grey, peanut butter jelly, and red velvet Sort of Pro: -They have drugs? Are they for real?? Cons: -The Bubbies didn't taste as fresh as the ones you can get everywhere in Hawaii. Freezer burn, maybe?
Dessert and tea cafe that's been on my bookmarks! I didn't get to try the desserts but we took some drinks to go green tea frappe: they make a good version of the green tea frappe! Not too powdery or sweet like other places tend to be Lots of seating inside, wish I could have stayed to hang out
I usually come here later at night, so I always opt to get a tasty traditional Korean teas. The ginger tea is def my favorite. The teas are also topped with crunchy almond pieces which is a nice touch. I have tried their shaved ice before, and its fair. I would like to try some of their other drinks, but I would have to come during the day so I have enough time to burn that excess caffeine or sugar. In the evening, the cafe gets quite filled with people studying, but there's always room to sit and never feels cramped. If I ever had to study, this would be an ideal spot. But I never will have to.
