What User doesn't like about Purple Saige Bistro:
The wine and service at this restaurant were top-notch. The food was decent, but overpriced compared to similar restaurants like Carne Mare or L'Artusi in NYC. $20 cocktails seemed excessive and the $33 bland pasta primavera was disappointing. The diver scallops were tasty, but not worth the high price. The prices don't match the quality of the dishes, making me realize why some items cost more. Just my two cents. View all feedback.

Purple Saige is one of the top restaurants in Lake Placid and boasts a skilled chef, Rob Borden. Every dish is delightful and the owners, Rob and his wife, are incredibly gracious. The restaurant has recently relocated to a larger space with a lovely bar. While they are no longer located on Main Street, they are still easily accessible by a short walk or a quick drive.
Thanks for a fantastic fourth July dinner! great service and eating. if I like another, I would have eaten everything on the menu.
We had dinner there on Sunday of Memorial Day weekend and although they were busy we had wonderful, attentive service. And the food...we had some specially prepared dishes that were EXCELLENT (the chef will do this on request). We started with a fried potato and cheese pancake with crem fresh and caviar, then oysters Rockefeller, then I had filet mignon on foie gras and pea greens with black truffles. My wife had chicken in a tomato jus with mashed potatoes which was the most tender chicken she had ever had. The dessert was a melt in your mouth chocolate mousse pie. Halfway through the meal there was a musician playing acoustic guitar singing soulful tunes. It was all splendid!
