What User doesn't like about Uoko Japanese Cuisine:
I have no complaints about the amazing food at this restaurant. However, most of the servers (except for the owner's son and one lady) always seem grumpy and in a bad mood. The older lady with glasses often comments on the amount of food we order, making remarks like "oh, it's a lot of food" or "you guys are really hungry today." Best local sushi spot in oc! they cannot beat the quality, price and consistency of this site. family owned many years and they have so many great cooks every day of the week. really a precious stone and so honored to have this place so close to my house. What's wrong? I would recommend the side menu pepper squid and monk fish liver are fantastic. if they like saba sushi, it is one of my favorites here as well as the live garnel when in the season. but also here the negi toro sushi, uni and hamachi are always a great choice. chris and his team of waiters are very friendly and helpful and employees are always there to help. I hope they try and see me in the bar, they say hello!
Super Oishi! It looks like a hole in a wall place, but it exudes an atmosphere of authentic friendliness and Japanese hospitality. The sushi chef is very friendly and attentive to our needs, as well as the rest of the staff. The food they have are also yummy and is not very pricey compared to other Japanese restaurants. Good value for money. They gave us some oranges after our meal. It's a good way to end a nice dinner.
I was born in Japan, grew up in Kansai, and moved to America. Recently, the number of Korean-run sushi restaurants has increased, and I dislike it because sushi with strange things and sauce on it, isn’t proper sushi. Anyone can make sushi, but if you want authentic sushi, I’d highly recommend Uoko restaurant. Uoko is a safe quality restaurant that is Japanese owned, with Japanese sushi chefs and servers and serves real Japanese sushi at an affordable price.
We have been going here since 1990& always enjoy the food. Nice family business.
Really delicious. You have a great lunch when you sit at the bar. $18 and you can choose 5 items. Do you have a variety of hand rolls to cut rolls and only sushi on rice???. Come with soup. Delicious. And the cook does it right in front of you????? Some strange rules like not ordering the same things more than once and not sharing. But I mean, it's good to try a lot of things. And the 5 items will definitely fill you when you get a variety. They all came quite fast and they all tasted really amazing. This is a small place, but it is a great place and I really enjoy it!!!???
