First time at Paul's. I have a brisket taco, ribs and corn maquechoux (1st time try this kind of corn, I am not from LA). The Brisket taco was delicious! A generous part of the delicate, slender brisket, cheese and cubed onions on a very buttery tortilla. The ribs were tender and not too fat. The corn was pretty good, although it was made with canned maize. No deal breaker in any case, but it was still really good. I... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Paul's Rib Shack Barbecue:
My husband has the pulled pork nachos, he loved them. I had the ribs, they were pretty dry and they didn’t give me enough extra sauce to make up for that but I didn’t know to ask for more till I got home. They also charged me for the bread pudding but I realized when I got home that they forgot to give it to me. So overall kind of upsetting, probably won’t return View all feedback.

Always amazing! I love her bride, ribs, Fridays rueben special, saturday's ribeye specials, but especially... The black RUM SAUCE has beaten up. If you didn't try all these things, please check them.
Best brisket you could ask! A brisket baked potato is my way and is a stealing of a deal! Bread pudding is also the best, and considering buying pans for my wedding!
You do not think of Southwest Louisiana as a place you will find quality BBQ, yet Paul Pettefer is here, cranks of delicious Texas style BBQ. Brisket and ribs are both as good as anything you find in Louisiana, and would absolutely keep their own in Texas. The five beans were savory with a unique taste. If you are in the SW Louisiana region, a trip to Paul’s Rib Shack would be a stop worth it
Hands down, GREATEST local BBQ in Lake Charles! The brisket is phenomenal, the ribs fall off the bone, and the blackberry rum sauce bread pudding is TO DIE FOR! High prices, but that's to be expected, considering the market. The atmosphere out back is EXTRAORDINARY with live music, picnic tables, and several activities to do with the kids!! Very friendly staff! I always enjoy visiting this place any chance I get.
