Our family had dinner here at 80. celebrating my mother's birthday. The food was great! Among the highlights were the Maine Lobster Bisque and my mother loved the duck. View all feedback.
Diamond in the rough. Not too often do you find a city the size of ours with true four-star fine dining, and La Truffe delivers, to the point where it is difficult to consider somewhere else for special occasions. We have been there three times now, and we have been consistently impressed with entire experience from the time we walk in the door until the time we leave. Even when I managed to spill a little champagne, it only made me laugh. The service is dignified and deliberate--if you are impatient or have somewhere else to go, you will want to avoid this place.<br/ <br/ Wine cellar is larger than some well-touted restaurants in big cities. Duck Confit and the Colorado Rack of Lamb are musts. And whatever you do, DO NOT leave without having the souffle. It was as perfect as it was when I visited Paris.
Dining at La Truffe Sauvage. Absolutely the best restaurant between Houston and New Orleans. Atmosphere is peaceful with the feeling no one else is there but you and your date. Service is personnal but not too familiar. Everyone should treat themselves to a true, complete dinning experience at La Truffe Sauvage. Lake Charles is VERY lucky to have this restaurant.
Best food in LC!. This is hands down the best place to eat in LC for a romantic or celebrated evening. Best talent in the kitchen and dishes are executed with near perfection. Duck Confit, Scallops Rockefeller, and Lobster Bisque should not be passed up on this menu.
For a soup course we feasted on a duck consomme. The flavorful broth conjured up memories of duck hunting and my childhood... not that I ever ate anything quite like this growing up. A couple 2010 wines from Roland Rapet were served with the duck conomme: a Aloxe Corton and the Corton Grand Cru. Both were stellar accompaniments to the delicious consomme. The poached quail egg also added a great richness in the soup.
Saturday Dinner Delight! Our dining experience was an absolute joy. As it ALWAYS is here. From our arrival to our departure Saturday was a much need decompression from the stress of the week. The food was fantastic. Nothing artificial here. Foie Gras, heaven. The wine list, heaven again. Delicious! Literally. Everything we ordered was fantastic. It reminded me of this little restaurant in Montmartre, Paris. The wait staff was incredible. Confident, Knowledgeable, Friendly... And all handsome. Ryan, Paul, Kaliel and Frank truly understand and anticipant the guests every need. The restaurant was busy and we had a later reservation. However We did not lack for anything. The staff was so inviting. Service, cuisine, fellowship far exceeded our expectations. Unfortunately there was a sourness of our night An obnoxious couple (he) who complained from the time he walked in until the time he walked out ...he made it known to the entire restaurant. After observing this, we became intrigued. He basically invited us to join them for dinner. The sour part of our experience was having to share the same a dining room with this hulk of a person! He needed water obsessively. Mind you, the staff was at times was overly attentive. He used expletives the entire time he was a guest. I am surprised the server did not invite him to just leave. Wait! It gets better We continued to ease drop their conversation, it seemed, he was totally playing the staff (most likely wanted something for free). I applaud the staff for standing up to him and calling him out. He started canceling orders once he realized he was not gonna score a free dinner. Looser. He paid. Learned later he stiffed the staff. People like this don’t serve a reservation. Great night. Enjoyed the show! We look forward visiting again, SOON!
