What a fantastic part of the world, we came across La Tremblade by accident, and very glad we did. We ended up at La Cabane a Marie by luck, we parked the car and walked past other restaurants which were all full, but luckily La Cabane had 2 seats recently vacated so could fit us in. The food was excellent value and well prepared. The mussels were excellent, staff very friendly. View all feedback.
What Cliff N doesn't like about La Cabane A Marie:
Thought we’d try this place for lunch at 1.10pm to be told “finish” !! That was the conversation “FINISH”. from the scruffiest, unshaven, impolite waiter in La Tremblade. Walked 50 metres ro another restaurant and had the most lovely meal served by friendly staff. View all feedback.
We called in for lunch here as it had a varied and slightly different menu. I had oysters and hubby had gambas for starters both were excellent . Main course we had moules cognac, very tasty and a bit different. All accompanied with a nice bottle of rose. Very good attentive service.

A first visit wthout making a reservation but certainly will not be the last. Helpful and fairly quick service. We understand it was the beginning of the moules season and so it was fairly busy with mainly French customers which is always a good sign in this part of France.....being much more knowledgeable regarding oysters and moules than the rest of Europe.
It was disappointing both at the level of food and service. really not much to say except for the feeling of having wasting our money, our time..... a pity, with such a magnificent frame and such a beautiful terrace. I think they have nothing to do with opinions since this location will certainly bring them the sufficient tourist stream to continue. Shrimps served as canteen, a tomato tartar riquiqui and mussels accompanied by potato not cooked.
