We found this place on our first trip to La Clusaz. This, the second time, we went 3 times! I'm not a big cheese eater and am a big thai lover so this place is my absolute favourite in La Clusaz. The red/green curries are really great but be brave as we gambled on a pork dish that was the star of the show! I disagree with the post below about choosing what it's going for, hustle and bustle at the bar made the atmosph... View all feedback.
Probably the only place with no reblochon on the menu in the entire area, and in any case a realllly good Asian cuisine at very reasonable prices. Tiny place - expect it to be crowded. The menu is a huge billboard that's placed on your table :))) Great import beer otherwise quite hard to come by in this Heineken-infested region (which except for beer has incredibly high standards of couture) and a tremendous green curry chicken. You'll love it once you are over the first flash of spicyness. Also check out their various banana based deserts. No English spoken!
Went early as I know this place is small. Only ever had a takeaway but because it was so good I had to eat there. With my family and mum inlaw. I cannot stress enough how good this food is. The owner is Vietnamese and husband is French. Very welcoming and it's like being in their home. My daughters aged 3&8 enjoyed the dishes that were not over spicy. Go try, amazing !!!!!
A bit quirky. Very small. 18 covers only so make sure you book. A smallish menu but i like that. We had prawn tempura and beef samosa to start. Both excellent. Followed by chicken with noodles and caramel pork. We like them both but would of liked a little more chilli heat. As many have said you can eat alot of cheese in this town. Not here !
After 3 days of only finding cheese on the menus of the local restaurants we were desperate for a break so tried this Thai place as we enjoy fresh spicy flavours! The owner and his wife are charming but I have to say some of the dishes must be catering to local French cream-loving tastes. The Thai red curry was awful, drowning in coconut milk and without much flavour, my king prawn stir-fry had enormous prawns I had to shell myself although they were covered in the vegetables, this was quite bland but luckily I was given chilli paste which helped. The high stools to sit at are difficult to reach for a shortie like me and you have to sit very close to other guests. I guess our tastes are different so we were not impressed but other people may enjoy it and the atmosphere is nice and a change from the Savoyarde food.
Went with a group of friends - and we just about filled the place! A selection of dishes were brought - and every one was delicious. Authentic flavours - and a change from the meat and cheese heavy cuisine of the region. The owner was welcoming and friendly. We had a great time.
