Shot Qí Yuán Lupin! - Kyoto

Large small bar with very friendly staff. We tried some different Japanese traditional cocktails that were delicious. Service with a smile and even a few dinner tips. Very recommended before or after dinner.

Very cozy cool environment. Good place to get a few drinks and hide out from the cold. Bar owner was very friendly and knew pretty decent English.

Swell little bar in Gion district of Kyoto. Outstanding mixed drinks. Perfect dry martini James Bond style. Several Japanese women came in and ordered blue cocktails made with Hpnotiq, a liqueur we had never heard of before. So after those perfect martinis, we had a few more hpnotiq cocktails that went down easy. We were singing along with Louie Armstrong on the sound system and kibitzing with the Japanese patrons and had a really great time. Bartender Shinge is a great host. Rolled out of Lupin and into a cab back to the hotel. Recommended.

The Bartender here knows his stuff and speaks enough English for foreigners to order what they want. If you want a mastery drink, come to Lupin!
