Went for lunch with a friend at The Little Ox. Vegan and vegetarian options available. Extensive menu that gives you a variety of choice. <br/ garden of eden (minus mayo) nicely poached egg with sautéed pumpkin on soft fluffy pumpkin toast. <br/ Chilli scramble large serve of scrambled eggs with chorizo, tomatoes and bacon. Very filling. <br/ friendly arrive. Our waitress was extremely helpful. However, they forgot our coffee order and therefore was not 10/10 service.
The Iced soy Latte is perfect for a Summer’s day – they serve great coffee! <br/ <br/ The Garden of Eden was exactly what I wanted. The broccolini and roasted pumpkin were cooked perfectly and I loved the flavour combo – avocado, beetroot hummus, broad beans, marinated tomato, and a poached egg. The Sweet Corn Fritters are also delicious – nice and crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. <br/ <br/ The service was really good even though they were quite busy. And we sat outside since we had a dog with us.
We visited Little Ox for Boxing Day brunch today which is a cute little cafe in Brighton. I had the smashed avo and given I’m not a fan of halloumi asked if it were possible to swap this for something, fresh tomato was suggested and was a yummy switch. I enjoyed my breakfast and we also had two salads (a lamb and a chicken) as well as the chilli scramble which everyone seemed happy with. A public holiday surcharge but that’s to be expected. Coffee also impressed
I have been visiting The Little Ox for years now and have very rarely been disappointed. <br/ <br/ There food is beautifully presented and the staff are friendly. <br/ <br/ Also, a recent renovation has made the café extremely warm, green and inviting.
4.5<br/ We called into The Little Ox today for an early brunch on a fine winters day. This cafe has had a change of ownership 1 month ago, the third in its 10 years history and new father and daughter team are keen to make the little ox their own and will shortly be releasing a new seasonal menu. <br/ <br/ We enjoyed our St Ali orthodox coffees, served piping hot and creamy, I even had a choice of almond milks whilst ordering. We ordered the breakfast burger with chunky chips and Warrior Açaí Bowl.<br/ <br/ Our meals arrived in record speed, my açaí bowl was adorned with the most fragrant passionfruit half and all the combination of ingredients from fresh fruit to the peanut butter and coyo worked perfectly together. I must say I found the granola a spectacularly crunchy mix and loved that fact it didn’t have goji berries in it, I didn’t have to spend my breakfast avoiding them and relished every mouthful. <br/ <br/ The breakfast burger arrived with a generous serve of bacon, wonderful field mushrooms full of flavour (that I could eat by the bowl full) a lovely smokey relish bring all the flavours together, the side of chunky chips were yum and I think the dish would be the perfect hangover cure. <br/ <br/ A great local cafe with a good amount of table space and some friendly welcoming service.
