Yesterday's dinner at this restaurant was a delightful experience as we struggled to choose from the wide variety of delicious vegetarian options offered on the menu. We ended up ordering an uttapam, a potato-filled dosa, a rice porridge-like dish, and a lentil donut in sauce, all of which were flavorful and distinct from our usual North Indian meals. What DZet doesn't like about Mtr Malaysia:
Prices are a bit higher and I don't feel they deliver. Still, the union Utthappam was interesting (lots of union in the pancake) and with the sauces it wasn't that bad. Bisi Bele Bath started with decent papadum chips that weren't so salty, but then the dish really was, not so tasty either. Also had the Wednesday Mix Veg. Aloo Bonda, which was just fatty fried dough with some curry stuffing. View all feedback.
The dosas at this restaurant are delicious and gluten-free, but they are not listed on the menu.
With a rich history dating back to 1924, this restaurant is known for its perfect crispy dose that simply melts in your mouth. They offer a variety of signature dishes to try, including Akki roti, Vada, Masala Vada, and the world-renowned filter coffee. For vegan options, make sure to request no Ghee or Butter as all other dishes are vegetarian.
However, it is worth noting that there seems to be a lot of ghee used in the dishes, which may not make this place ideal for vegans. The restaurant chain's history is showcased on posters adorning the walls, adding an interesting narrative to our dining experience.
I visited the restaurant and checked out the menu. There was nothing that caught my eye, and I found it to be expensive. The food might be good, but I can't say for sure.
I want in for a quick lunch. Lots of food on the menu, but no indication about which dishes are vegan. Upon asking the staff, they pointed to two dishes only I'm sure more are/could be made vegan, but honestly, I didn't feel like asking considering the lack of enthusiasm of the staff. So I went for the Plain Dosa without ghee. It was good. But I won't go back.
