What Gs Naidoo doesn't like about Kloofzicht Lodge:
Not a happy customer. Room had a terrible odour despite me leaving the door open. The staff does not seem well equipped on how to speak to customers. I was forced to go and have lunch at the Cradle Moon Restaurant which was some distance away. A big thank you to James Bond the Waitor who served our meals in the evening was the exception-he was brilliant. I will definitely not be returning to this place cos of the ove... View all feedback.
Attended this venue for a wedding and spent the night. The rooms were large, clean and felt really luxurious. I enjoyed drinking some tea (provided) with gorgeous views of the grounds and lake outside the room. The rooms offer you enough privacy and comfort. The facilities are all clean and they provided little soaps. There is even an outdoor shower (but I didn't make use of this). I ordered some room service and it was DELICIOUS. I went for a drink at the main restaurant/bar. It was nice and quiet and the staff were friendly. Special shout-out to their bathrobes. (They also supplied some slippers) You have an option to purchase your own which I was so tempted to do, since it was so comfortable I spent a large majority of my time in them. Haha. Would love to go back just for the vibes.
The chalets are spacious and clean. The bed was very comfortable. The views are stunning. I had a massage at the spar and I felt it was a 5 out of 10 disappointing. The supper was outstanding we were a group of 12 and everyone really enjoyed the food. Starter 9 out of 10 main 10 out of 10 pudding 6 out of 10. The breakfast spread was exactly what one hopes for at an upmarket getaway. Great variety and all fresh and well presented. Everything I had tasted great and my omelet was cooked to perfection. I probably won't go back for the spar. But for a beautiful peaceful getaway and a change of pace. This is a great option. From what I experienced this would be a very good venue for a conference.
Wow, absolutely breathtaking. Just too Beautiful, animal's comes to the doorstep. Staff was very friendly and helpful, they went out of their way to help us. Rooms were very neat and clean, cleaning staff was very helpful. Restaurant served lovely food but very pricey, we are a family of 3 and at dinner they only served set a menu or buffet, we aren't big eaters, we wasted R1200. 00 for the little food we ate, our waiter felt very sorry for us, we normally eat starters when we go out that's our mains for us but hopefully they change that. We went for my boss's wedding, and wow, they did absolutely beautiful job, to the decor, to the setup, to the food, just too gorgeous.
We really enjoyed this place. The views are amazing, the staff is friendly, the rooms are clean and in great condition and the buffets are nice. It's really a good place to be if you want to relax and unwind away from hustle and bustle..
The property and rooms are gorgeous, food was great, room service was quick, and the massages were amazing! Would still recommend a visit, but not 5 star worthy. Here are the issues we had/things to be aware of: The pool was disgusting, the sides and bottom were slippery from the amount of algae accumulation, and the smaller pool was murky due to how dirty it was. Still pretty to look at but don’t count on using it to swim. We booked an airport transfer at the front desk a day in advance thinking it would be the most reliable option.. the driver was 40 minutes late and wanted to charge twice the amount that the front desk quoted us (700 vs 350 Rand). We found out both issues were due to the front desk not communicating properly. I would suggest you use Uber (we used it to arrive and it was great, cost 365 Rand from Johannesburg) and ensure you have plenty of time to get to your next destination! The restaurant was closed one night because of a private event. There were multiple conferences and events going on during our stay so I’m assuming this is a common occurrence. The wifi does not extend into the rooms, reception/restaurant area only. Loud landscaping started at 9am. The activities (spa, hot air balloon, etc) are all outsourced so the front desk will give you their contact info but can’t help book it for you.
