Wilhelm Franken - Krefeld

Yesterday I had a little time and had a light lunch at Franken. Apart from the excellent blinis with smoked Salmon and a glass of South African Sauvignon Blank the service staff was very friendly and professional. Would like to recommend the venue as top...class.

Franken is somewhat snobbish catering to a higher' type, design clothes and the like.. The cuisine is average though, nice dining area in a winter garden, you can look at what's going on at the little market....Expensive for the simple fare....good wine.

Franken is very exclusive deli shop: meats, sausages, pastries, fish (smoked salmon, shrimps, cheeses, ready made dishes, home made jams, olive-oil etc. in the middle of Krefeld shopping area. They also have restaurantfacilities in a covered terrace, but more fun is sitting outside (umbrellas keeping...you dry and blankets to keep you warm), where there is an outdoor kitchen. Several hochsitze and nice loungers. When you sit there, having a glass of Sekt or good wine and one of the excellent dishes, it is big fun to see all people passing by. Try the smoked salmon with rösti oder the Naschteller. Staff is usually very friendly. Attention; closing days are , as expected sunday, but als on Mondays

I seem to get to Krefeld about every years or so and the first place I head to eat is Franken Delikatessen. The bistro offerings are always fresh and inventive. Staff: It’s all about family. The Franken family/staff take marvelous care of their guests....Whether you dine outside from the bistro or do takeaway from the deli, you always come away knowing you’ve had a superb dining experience. I will try and get by more frequently!

We were in this restaurant for the first time and felt very comfortable. the service was well positioned and provided a competent service.The offered foods have convinced in terms of choice and quality.
