Came here with business partners for a fun night out. I love gin, so this place is heaven with a huge selection, and the barman is happy to give recommendations. But the food was excellent, too. I had lamb ragout and it was delicious, and the starters and dessert were tasty as well. The service was friendly. I loved this place and will go there again when in Cologne. View all feedback.
What Maryse Garcia doesn't like about Pepe:
I've heard lots of good things about the food at this bar/restaurant, but it's also recommended as a bar. We decided to try it out with some friends, and the results were poor indeed. Apart from a ridiculously long list of gins, the bar offers an interesting menu of about ten craft cocktails which are reasonably priced between 8 and 11 Euros. Alas, my first three choices were unavailable due to lack of ingredients. M... View all feedback.
We will long remember ( so will also Melanie the super attentive waitress that took wonderful care of us and made anything to make our dinner memorable) This small restaurant and gin bar , they have 400 different type of gins, so any taste will be satisfied, serves also great food, and amazing quality of meat , really great .Good bistro food alike selection , super ambience , and when you have ten italians all sitting together and in the mood for party , the place must be good as Pepe is .Here you do not need to drink water, as in wine 87% of it , it is water
.... to be fair I went there thinking it is an Italian lounge bar-restaurant that surely it is not.I will start by saying that the stuff at the place is really friendly and helpful! I don't know about gins and I am not much of an alcohol driven person in food choices yet they have a long cocktails and wine list I took a negroni that cannot get wrong. In terms of food I would say that it has a short menu mainly grilled angus fillets and veal. I had an anvil steak with Mediterranean mushed potatoes ( it's all about the right herbs) and my friend a pork tenderloin in red wine sauce... and a Vitelo tonato ( not a great success) along with a green salad with cottage cheese. Everything was more or less ok... the price 100euro...I don't know if these are typical prices in Germany so I wind comment on that... it is recommended for a nice night out of at cologne...
I love this restaurant. Its the only place in cologne that is not boring. The perfect bar/restaurant for a fun night with friends. The biggest selection of gin tonic in town and the waiters are always friendly and efficient. The weekly changing menue will make sure you don't get bored.Reserve early, its mostly fully booked.
We had a drink on the terrace. 400 different gins, never seen. Good service, good suggestions, expensive. Must visit if you like gin.
This restaurant has extremely good points and extremely bad pointsfood: the food was really really good!the dishes were around €10 - €40 depending on what you order but they have a deal menu for €25 that serves three dishes which ends up being one of the cheapest things on the full menu gin: they have a mind-blowing selection of gin from all over the world .. on their menuwhen you try ordering the gin there's a 50% chance they don't have it in the barthe gin is prices separately than the tonic the prices range from €12 a gin glass to upwards of a €100 per gin glass for very select ginsthe have a limited cocktail selection for €8.5 if gin is not your thingservice: the waiters were very friendly and very service orientedthey simply dnt know what's on the menu - u have to spell out every gin your want and they have to copy it downI would recommend the food but don't like the fact that you can't find their gin offerings a the bar!
