I've dined in the restaurant and bought take-away from them on a number of occasions. The service & quality of food is good, and they offer an extensive menu from which to choose. I'll certain dine in or take-away from the Tin Wong again in the near future. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Tin Wong Palace:
Upon entering the restaurant, one is greeted with old, torn chairs in the entrance. The establishment is clearly in need of renovations, and the staff are dressed in dirty casual attire. Guests at another table were even given pink plastic cups to drink wine from. The food was mediocre and definitely not worth returning to such a run-down place. Overall, the experience was not enjoyable. View all feedback.

A group of us ate there and found that the place required some maintenance ,it was a hot night and the old aircon did not cope plastic table cloths stuck to the table and were quite tacky in places and the toilets looked like the were painted with a scrubbling brush however we had a good night the food was OK and plentiful and the staff friendly one lady did it all so there were times when the plates were left and the table got a bit cluttered would try another in the area next time.
We had a family dinner there tonight. The staff were fantastic and the food was delicious. We will be back for sure.
Recently got some takeaway from here - the Couple Pack for $29.90 - included 6 pieces of home made dim sim; oyster chicken fillet; sweet & sour pork nuggets and special fried rice. As a bonus we received chicken and sweet corn soup and prawn crackers (I was actually offered two bags of the crackers - a very generous offer which I declined).I must note that I'm yet to eat in at this restaurant so it is difficult to provide a proper review, but my review is based on my takeaway experience. We ordered food around 9.30pm and it was ready within about 10 minutes, which was very good. The lady at the front was very friendly and, as noted, offered us extra crackers. The dining room, although rather kitsch, was reasonably full with about 20 (mostly elderly Anglo) patrons at a long table who appeared to be enjoying their night. Upon arriving home and inspecting the feast, the food was quite generous in portion - plenty in all dishes, and with the bonus crackers and soup was a decent meal for 3 people, possibly 4.Unfortunately the food didn't meet even my low-ish expectations. The chicken and sweet corn soup was devoid of any chicken and seemed, possibly, to have been previously frozen based on the lack of taste. The dim sims were the oddest I've ever tasted - slightly spiced with pepper (which is good), but with a very strange aftertaste and a somewhat plastic skin - 4/10. That said, it's unlikely they were mass-produced frozen types, as I've never tasted anything similar in my life (and I've had hundreds in my conquests!). The oyster chicken fillet was OK, although the meat was a bit dry and too small, and typically drowned in too much salty sauce which is reminiscent of lower-quality chinese food - 5/10. The sweet & sour pork nuggets were a pleasant surprise - separated on a bed of crispy rice(?) noodles, the sauce was separated to keep them fresh - these were definitely the highlight. These were pretty good - 7/10. The special fried rice was simply terrible - it had a horrible flavour throughout and lacked any typical ingredients, or their flavour, that one might expect in fried rice. I assume it was cooked with some sort of red bean sauce or something equivalent (possibly a marinade for a low-quality bbq pork). Either way, it was terrible - probably the worst I've ever had - 3/10Notwithstanding the above, the restaurant has a quaint 80s charm to it, the staff are friendly, the portion sizes are generous and the prices (at least for take-away) are very good.Despite a somewhat negative review, I want to like this place as I prefer traditional (ie. non-fusion) Chinese restaurants, and will give this place another try and eat in one night. Expect an update in the coming months!
