Ellis Gourmet Burger

Terribly long service, cold drafts throughout the place, dirty toilets, average burgers, not worthy spending time and money here.

Totally overrated and overpriced. There are much better places to get some food in Knokke. The service is also very slow.

Couldn't believe it! We sat at the bar and were not even acknowledged. Nothing?! After 5 got frustrated and walked out.

Easily the best burger you will get in Belgium (and that is not faint praise either as it was one of the best burgers I've had anywhere in recent memory). We ate at the Ellis Burger in Brugge during our stay there and it was simply a perfect burger. I would highly recommend either the Bacon Cheeseburger or the Guaco-Lamb Burger (brilliant flavor combination there with the guacamole and ground lamb) They serve burgers and nothing but burgers and they are all delicious. Their sides are all A la carte and big enough for two to share. The fries are as good as any in Belgium, the coleslaw is phenomenal, the corn on the cob is solid (baked I believe instead of boiled or grilled like you would see in the US but good nonetheless). While the service is slower than you would ever see in the United States, that is true of anywhere in Europe so to complain about something that minor is silly at best. We ate there twice and our meal took about 1 hour each time...pretty rapid as far as European standards go. The waitstaff was friendly and competent and we had no issues with anything at all while there. It was a pleasure to find a great hamburger in such an unexpected locale.
