Such a great sandwich restaurant. Quality is better than you'd find with Subway/Mr Sub. I've lived in KW my whole life and can't believe it's taken me this long to try Big John's. There vegetarian options are good and doesn't sacrifice taste when you get a meat free sub! View all feedback.
Don't let the quaint exterior of this well-established restaurant fool you - the real magic happens in the back, where they create hoagies that could rival NASA's creations. Despite the lack of hospitality from the shy sandwich maker, his culinary skills are top-notch. He expertly handles special requests like toasting with a mysterious machine that only he knows how to operate. And if you have a dining companion who is a police officer, be sure to mention it for a special treat.
I have visited this restaurant a few times and tried two different sandwiches. Both sandwiches were very fresh and generously topped. The staff member working was very friendly, providing excellent recommendations and suggestions on what to order. The prices are reasonable and they offer some great specials. I will definitely be returning!
I love this place. It's been around for a long time. They did a nice job on the new store. Not sure if it's under new management but was still as good as always
My dad started coming here in the 1970s and it's been a staple in our family as long as I've been alive. Such great subs and a great local small business to support. My usual order is a cold assorted, chef's kiss. Never had a better sub.
This restaurant is possibly the most unique sub shop in the city. The menu is made up of tiled sheets of printer paper taped to the wall, with unusual toppings like 'chopped' listed. There are pictures of fried chicken dinners and coleslaw on a broken menu board on the wall, even though they don't actually sell these items. They also sell brass candleabras for some reason. Despite all of these quirks, Big John's serves the most delicious subs in the region. It's unclear what makes them so good - maybe they prioritize high-quality ingredients over fancy decor. Every sub I've tried there has been much better than those from Subway or Quiznos. Don't let the rundown appearance deter you, you'll have a great meal if you give it a chance.
