I have watched the pbs show A Chef's Life and wanted to try the restaurant. My experience there lived up to all of my expectations. The staff was welcoming and very well trained which helped with the overall experience. The food was different than what I have experienced but also something that I enjoyed very much. I feel that it is a very good value and would not hesitate to return. View all feedback.
The restaurant gets the restaurant. All about my experience here; from service to food was beyond expectations. The menu is simply kept to measure the right ingredients to the right taste profiles. I was thrilled with the custom cocktail menu. My choice was the old cherry. I had the lasagna as my duck and loved every bite. They make it possible to eat and socialize a lot of time, despite quite busy. The room above can be a little loud when busy, but it wasn't distracting.
Oh, my God! What a pleasure to eat at Vivian Howard's restaurant. It exceeded our expectations for a mile! The ambience, presentations, flavors, diversity and service was excellent (Susan snd other)! We were not sure about some of the reviews we read and almost canceled our reservation, but are so glad that we left anyway! My partner said the **** was the best he had ever eaten. He also shaved over the basil infused Gimlet. I found the Miso Gingered Greens and the marinated cucumber noodles to be the highlight of the meal. I also have the strawberry salad that had an amazing strawberry dress. The 10-layer chocolate cake with vanilla chantilly Cream was spectacular. I'm not a fan of caramel, but the rest of the plate was so good I would order it again. We shared the cake and are glad that we did because it was much to satisfy. We are looking forward to our next visit when we live in Upstate NY and only reach this vast south occasionally.
My husband and I wanted to visit on holiday. The whole experience was better than anything we expected. The food was extraordinary. The delicate balance of aromas is difficult to put into words. We were shown around the beautiful restaurant of our wonderful hostess Kristen. Thanks for the Atlas. You were, of course, delicious. As fans of the show, it was a lot of fun to see everything personally. I highly recommend this restaurant for the quality of food, warm welcome from all staff, and beautiful surroundings. We look forward to when we can return.
My wife and I have recently watched Vivians PBS shows. I decided to bring her to an early birthday present. Never had Collards, but based on the many reviews I've read, we tried the Flash Fried Collards. They were fantastic. We had the NY Strip and Chicken Confit. Both were delicious. Brown buttermash as a side was really good. To dessert we had the carrot cake. I love carrot cake and this one didn't disappoint. Not the typical heavy frost ladder carrot cake. It was very light and had a light mocha taste that was a pleasant surprise. Especially our waitress Kashia was the staff very pleasant and helpful. She was there when we needed her and treated everything nicely.
What an awesome experience! My wife and I discovered Chef Vivian and this restaurant years ago when her PBS show A Chef 's Life premiered and at the time we were living in CA but we had always told ourself we would stop by and eat here if we ever vacationed nearby. Fast forward to today where we now live in OH so during our weekend getaway to North Carolina we finally got to try it! Service was amazing, food was full of flavor and the menu had plenty of new and interesting things to try. We had the corn bread and meat cheese tray for starters, my wife ordered the confit chicken, and I ordered the blackened salmon. We loved every bit of it and are so glad we finally got to check this one off the list!
