The Daily Lunch Specials are a must-try, and they do not disappoint. The food is well-prepared and portioned, catering to various tastes. Their campfire smores beer has a unique taste while their BBQ dishes, especially the beef brisket, are tender and flavorful. The friendly staff and decent prices make it a great spot for both casual dining and special occasions, with occasional live music providing entertainment on Thursdays. Overall, Brays Restaurant is a solid choice for quality BBQ and more.
We stopped here for a late lunch 3 pm on a Tuesday. We were heading home from an RV trip to the Valley, so we were towing our fifth wheel. The huge parking lot made it a convenient and easy stop. We were the only customers there when we arrived. Our server greeted us promptly and took excellent care of us. We both ordered the two meat plate. I got pork spare ribs and sliced brisket with grilled asparagus and cream corn. My husband got double brisket with borracho beans and potato salad. Both meals were served with delicious fresh jalapeno cornbread, sliced pickles and onion. The table had two bottles of house made sauce: original and sweet heat. Although the sweet heat wasn't spicy, it was so good! The brisket was lean (without being dry) and quite tasty and the ribs were tender and flavorful. The taste of the beans was perfect, but they could have been a little warmer. The grilled asparagus was nicely seasoned and cooked just right. The corn and potato salad were okay, but not anything to brag about. We will definitely return when we are in the area again.Parking: Large lot, free of potholes
I wasn't impressed with their home brew beer but the meal was fantastic. I had a ribeye with baked potato and asparagus. Everything was cooked to perfection. The steak was delicious and I really enjoyed my meal here. Very good!
If you say only one sentence to share my experience here, I'd say the owner really loves and know how to BBQ and make sure all the foodies enjoy hereThe chili is beyond my expectation in terms of the amount of the meats inside. All four of us enjoy it, including my 9 month old.The portion provided here for each dish is so generous.Very high Quality/Price Ration to dine here and great for any occasion.
We stopped here on the way back from South Padre Island. The pork ribs and brisket were awesome. This was the first time being served corn bread with our bbq,and they nailed it. Highly recommend this restaurant.
I'll start by saying we were a BIG party (about 40 people), so we will have to try it again, and if things are different, I will update my review. The parking was plentiful, easy to get in and out of, and close to HWY 77. Easy to get to.The restaurant was clean, and there was plenty of seating. We started at the bar while waiting for our party. The bartender was OK. She seemed overwhelmed, and you could tell she needed help. She made great drinks! They had two waitress for our party. They probably should have had at least one more. They were unorganized and confused about the orders. They were not friendly at all and did not ask if we needed anything or get us refills. The food was meh. The portions were small, poorly plated, and several orders were wrong. The flavor was grease. I did not get pictures because of all the commotion. I had the poor boy with two meats (Brisket and sausage). The bread was soggy, the was hardly any Brisket and only a thin slice of sausage. I ordered potato salad, but got fries. Hubby got the two meats plate with ribs and sausage. He got two tiny ribs and 1 small piece of sausage. He got macaroni as his side, and it was cold. The prices were not bad for what we ordered. As previously mentioned, we will try it again when we are in the area.
