What Avalon M doesn't like about The Castle:
My partner and I visited for a Sunday Roast for our anniversary today. The food quality was very poor. I had a nut roast with trimmings which once o had eaten I was still starving hungry. My partner had a roast beef which was over cooked. We each had 2 roast potatoe and a few mixed veg. A thimble full of red wine for an extortionate price. The waitress was pleasant enough. My friend and I decided to stop here after a chocolate class near for a lunch pint and a fast snack. I got a pickle wine.
This was on our daily stretch from our place to train so that I would often pass and see many people who enjoy happy hour cocktails.
Great food and great mood. the duck and burgers were good. get the sticky toffee pudding for desert..awesome!
Nice pub in beautiful Holland Park. We had a reservation for Friday night and it was lively. The staff was wonderful and very accommodating, although we had our children with us (15 and 11). Food was excellent and not only Pub Grub, although you can get a supermarket fish and chips if you want. Handful of real Ales also on offer. Great way to enjoy our last night in London before you return to the USA highly recommended.
Amazing pub, even more incredible by Linda! The pub itself is brilliant, also with an incredible menu, but Linda really makes our visits enjoyable, her service is second to none and always makes us so welcome! It's worth coming in!
