Offering an extensive menu that spans European, Middle Eastern, and Asian cuisines, diners can indulge in beautifully presented dishes crafted from high-quality ingredients. The atmosphere is intimate and refined, complemented by a quiet bar and live music, ensuring a sophisticated experience. While prices reflect the top-tier offerings, the value is notable compared to other high-end London venues. With its relaxed yet elegant ambiance, Maxims is a must-visit for food lovers seeking a memorable dining experience.
Lovely location in a fantastic neighborhood. The casino is very exclusive with friendly staff and a great restaurant.
There are plenty of better dining options to visit just a short 10-minute drive or 15-minute walk away. The staff is friendly, but they could be more relaxed in their approach.
I concur with the reviews I read before visiting this restaurant. It is a pleasant and relaxing place with fantastic food and service. The bar area is comfortable and the live music was very enjoyable on the night I visited. The gaming floors have all the usual games you would expect, with reasonable starting minimums. The atmosphere is peaceful and serene, a nice change from the chaos of the casinos in the West End. I would definitely visit again if I were in the area.
We are not gamblers but were invited by colleagues to the Casino Club restaurant which is open to non-members and on the lower floor away from the gaming rooms. As a result it has an understated almost secretive atmosphere which made us feel very privileged. The four of us were seated in curved leather cushioned seats which created a very pampered, relaxed atmosphere. The menu is split into 3 distinct cuisines : European, Arabic/Middle Eastern and Chinese. I decided on starters from the European section : Seared Scallops with Crispy Chorizo and Pea Purée £14), and the scallops were juicy and the chorizo crispy and spiced. My partner had a Chinese starter : Deep Fried Soft Shell Crab £16) which was apparently a bit over spiced. For mains, I chose Boneless Saddle of Rabbit and Confit Legs £23) which was beautifully cooked and served with pistachio, black olives and a silky smooth olive mash potato. My partner chose the Szechuan Prawns with green and red peppers and water chestnuts in chilli sauce £22). The desserts seemed to be the European favourites with creme brûlée being a specialty, but we preferred the cheese board with Aged Parmesan and Best Blue Stilton and many others accompanied by glasses of port. Overall, high quality food, impressively presented in style, by an attentive efficient staff. Thank you all for a great experience! Highly recommended.
