What Hosea Rutherford doesn't like about Baxter Mountain Tavern:

No, the place is not vegan (what is why I can not give it more than three stars, but they at least make an attempt that is more than you can logically ask in the northern Adirondacks. We had the double Jenseits Burger (two times as good as a Jenseits Burger! and the black bean burger, along with a few pages of vegetables that were not ruined with butter. Unfortunately we could not try the vegan curry; next time! To pack in: good food, very good service and really great beer. Again a worthy ADK spot!
The restaurant has really evolved over time! Despite its unassuming appearance from the outside, it now offers more than just typical pub fare, including a salad option for vegans. I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of delicious choices available, making it difficult to decide on just one.
While visiting Placider Lake, we always make sure to stop by Baxter Mountain Tavern. Their menu includes a variety of vegan and vegetarian options, a wide selection of draft beers, and excellent service. We especially appreciate the cozy atmosphere and stunning mountain views—it’s a hidden gem just off the beaten path!

The transformation is remarkable! Initially, it appeared to be just another typical pub serving ordinary food with limited vegan options. However, we were pleasantly surprised to find a variety of delectable choices, making it difficult to decide what to order.
