We inquired with the hotel staff about a Sunday brunch at the hotel since we had a midday flight and wanted a good breakfast before leaving. We were not informed about a brunch, but we did have a delicious breakfast at Oscar's. It turns out they offer an amazing buffet with a variety of options including fresh prosciutto, honey dripping from a beehive, made-to-order omelets and crepes, a plethora of fruits and pastri... The hostess dropped us off immediately. The selection at breakfast is buffet or menu - we ordered from the menu. The menu has healthy choices, and I had the avocado and poached egg on toast. The main course was delivered within 20 minutes and served hot. Menu prices are the same as a Waldorf Astoria, but a bit expensive for the Orlando area.
The food at Oscar is fantastic and we enjoy going there for brunch, highly recommend it to everyone! Just keep in mind that they do not take reservations, even if you make one through OpenTable. Seating is based on a first come, first served basis. Please be aware that if the restaurant is full, they may accept an online reservation without actually honoring it.
A group of us stuck in Mickey Land for a convention were looking for a Sunday brunch spot. Oskars in Waldorf sounded like what we wanted and off we went. While I'm not a fan of buffets, this one looked amazing, with more variety than usual including a smoked salmon bar, ham bar, and honey dripping from a honeycomb! There were a lot of families with kids so it was a bit noisy but that didn't really detract ... everything the group of 4 tried we loved. Only two things that were a little strange was that the cost of the buffet only included mimosas, not **** Marys and no eggs Benedict on the buffet. However, what impressed me most was the commitment to making the customer happy. When I got to the salmon bar it was empty even though two staff members I asked told me it would be replenished. When I mentioned it to our waiter he came back and said they were going out which was disappointing. The manager came over apologetically and said they even sent Hikton next door but they were out until Monday ... not what I wanted to hear. 15 minutes later the manager appeared with a plate of the best smoked salmon I've had in a long time ... THAT is service.
Tonight we headed over to Texas Mesquite Grill for some tasty treats as we were hungry for fresh food in a nice quiet and pleasant atmosphere.
I paid another visit for lunch As usual, we were greeted at the door by a friendly staff member and promptly sat at a very comfortable booth.
