Kura Revolving Sushi - Katy

First time going and it was a fun experience. The food was decent, but sparse. I know I was there for a late lunch, but they weren't putting out a lot of items on the revolving bar. Enjoyed the goofy robot server, even if it got a little too close to me. Had to call actual human server over for refills as there isn't an option on the digital menu to do so.

I was there around 5pm. Not busy at all but the tables were dirty and smelly. I could see the dish slots clogged with food. Cleanliness definitely needs more attention. The service was below average. It’s a shame. I used to enjoy coming here but I don’t think I’ll be back at this location.

Food: I’m giving 2 stars only because food is pretty tasty and freshly made. It’s not the best sushi but I would come here again for the food and novelty of revolving sushi.Service: Generally when you eat in stores, it’s very self-service so I don’t have a lot of opinion about service when you eat there. However, their service downgrades SIGNIFICANTLY if you try to place an order online for pick up. I’ve tried to order twice and experienced worse service each time, which is why the 2 stars.Here’s what happened: I placed an order online ready to be picked up at 3:55. I showed up at 4:20 to give them ample amount of time because I felt like they need more lead time based on my last experience. Then they tell me “we don’t have an order with your name”. Then I proceeded to show them my exact receipt for this location and time. Without any apologies, she said she will go check. Then it took her 15 mins just to come back and it had looked like she forgotten I’ve been waiting. So I asked “Is my order still being made?” And she said “let me go check” (Isn’t that what you said you were doing? After that, she came back and said “your order will be ready in another 10-20 mins. They just printed your ticket and started making it.” This has ALREADY been 1 hour after the order is supposed to be ready. While I see many other customers receiving their food placed in stores, they didn’t prioritize making the food that I had been waiting 40 mins for? At the end of the day, there was so apologies nor any acknowledgement of how long I’ve been waiting for a very small amount of sushi (equivalent of 3 plates .I would eat here again in person but be prepared to wait for a long long time if you place your order online. I am writing a review because I think there is something very broken with their online ordering and I hope it gets resolved in the future.

Lovely genuine Japanese Atmosphere. The Revolving Sushi Bar is always clean and full of fresh sushi and nigiri. The sashimi is delicious, especially the salmon. Diverse variety of options to enjoy and consume. The ramen is fresh and full of flavor. Finger licking good hot food like fried squid and salmon skin. Overall amazing restaurant with easy access and talented servers.Vegetarian options: Lovely array of healthy veggie hand rolls like avocado and filled assorted veggie hand rolls. Great miso soup ? also a good selection of veggie rolls on the sushi menu.Kid-friendliness: Awesome. Kids love the sushi belly and Cody the robotWheelchair accessibility: Several wheelchair accessible tables available .

Great experience here and Great customer service!!! This is kid-friendly and parking is hard to find but this place is worth the money. Quality of the food here is great. The robot that brings you your drink is so freaking amazing!!! Highly recommended for sure!!! Definitely coming back with my family.Vegetarian options: There is a selection for veggies on the tablet and if you can't find it, a server will gladly assist you.Dietary restrictions: They have the information about every item you select on the tablet.Parking: Near Kino Bookstore and Its almost nearly impossible to find a parking spot during rush hours.Kid-friendliness: The prize system after every 15 plates you finish is so cool. The DC Comics are so cute!!!Wheelchair accessibility: Some tables have a wheel chair sticker that lets us know where the wheelchair are able to sit.
