What User doesn't like about Megalong Valley Tea Rooms:
Had apple pie, jasmine tea and hot chocolate here on Mother's day. Pie did not taste good. Cream and ice cream were yummy. Hot chocolate was kinda watery. Really popular with locals. We had to clean table ourselves. View all feedback.

My favorite place in the blue mountains. solid refreshing eating, exceptional prospects and the most satisfying brot I had in a damn long time. make them travel. it is worth
Friendly staff. beautiful environment. tasty twig. well the way down to the valley.
Lovely visit to the tea room. I had no idea this place existed but will definitely visit again. The coffee was great and the meals beautifully presented and delicious. I had a Ploughman's lunch ... plenty of food, lovely fresh vegetables, tasty pickles, huge chunk of cheese and slices of thick fresh ham. The fresh warm bread roll was amazing too. Thank you for a lovely experience.
The Megalong Valley Tea Rooms is a beautiful spot nestled in the valley. You will receive good food in a beautiful setting, however the service is lacking. After a hike through the Blue Mountains we decided to stop for a visit and to treat ourselves to fresh scones with jam and cream, and a hot coffee. Where the tea rooms come to life, is the outdoor dining area. Sitting below shady trees and amongst a mature garden, you will find a number of picnic tables that overlook paddocks within the valley. It is good to see the staff here take their covid social distancing and QR code obligations seriously. In order to dine here, you need to line up along the ramp, scan your QR code and wait to be called. When you are called, you can approach the person at the counter to make your order. I did find it interesting that if you wish to sit in the garden area to eat, you need to ask the staff if they have room. When I was asked, the lady told us that we need to go out and check. This process didn't match up with what was described on their signs. On a busy Sunday, there were only 2 front of house staff. One taking orders and one running food to a pickup area and calling the name of the persons order. Regardless if you are dining in or taking away, you will need to listen out for your name to be called as they will not delver your food to your table. Take care to listen out as the person running the food will only call it once and then walk away. It appears that there are regular diners here and they get priority for their food to be prepared. We took note of who was in front of us, and who was behind us in the line and two groups that ordered similar orders had their orders ready before ours. This made me think our order had been forgotten, but because of the lack of staff, I could not raise this with anyone. Eventually the food did come out. The fresh scones with jam and cream was worth the wait. The jam was tart, cream nicely whipped and scones were a good consistency. It was disappointing that they have reduced the number of scones received in the order from three, to two but the cost has remained the same. When it was time to leave you need to take your rubbish to the bins (they do not clear the tables) and I noticed that there were a couple of females lining up for the unisex bathroom, when queried why both bathrooms were not in use, it was because one bathroom had run out of toilet paper. Overall, despite the good food and beautiful garden setting, the lacking service, quantity of food and confusing process of trying to figure out if there were any seats available really brought my experience down. Megalong Valley Tea Rooms has great potential to be a destination for travellers and locals, but greater work is needed.
