What Kendra Wolf doesn't like about Aixois:
disappointed. the personal seems to be completely uninterested in customer service. the host told us that a table of two was actually a table of 3 and that the empty terrace for parties of 4 was saved. later we watched 3 tops on the four tops. service was also lax. we have heard that our server complains to tables and employees about the basic customer service. we saw table around us, ignored and gave speech. it was... My husband and I visited for the first time on a Monday during restaurant week for a lunch date. The food was fantastic, but the good ends there. Their website states that they are spacing out seating and also require masks. Neither is true. The place was packed, every table taken, and the staff were not wearing masks. Our lunch took over 2 hours (and we did make a reservation). We waited over 30 minutes for our dessert to arrive to be ultimately told that there would be no dessert. Didn’t offer a reason why. Then, just as we were getting ready to leave, our server came by with the dessert in a container. I don’t know if the service was incredibly slow because it was restaurant week or if this is their usual. However, what bothered us the most is that none of their staff were masked even though we are in the midst of another peak in the pandemic. Plus, they do state on their website that masks are required.
We love aixois and try to come a few times in the year for special occasions. oma started to take us here in the last night of her visit when our son was still very young, because it was child-friendly and they had high-quality eating that he eats and eating that we would love. quick coigling to his high school department - we wanted to go here with our inner circle after the ceremony, but couldn't get in at night. also the afternoon was difficult, but they have accented our big party, although I have waited too long (to wait for the correct reservation number). our server john was prompt, friendly and knowledgeable and eating was as always wonderful. skates, pasta and dessert specialties were wonderful, like our go-to favorites, the forelle and profiteroles. we wanted this day extra for our son and our guests, and as usual, aixois did not disappoint and went beyond and beyond to make our meal (as every eat there) wonderful and special. no wonder they have taken so long.
I am French and honestly it taste like in France. The atmosphere is very nice and I recommend their moule marinière and trout. (I am usually a ribeye guy).
The food was marvelous. I had the spinach crepe. It had just enough spice in it to make it pleasing to the palate. The complementary French bread and butter put the icing on the cake for me. Though the prices might be a little high for some, it's worth every dollar spent. I'm glad that I tried this place.
Here today, an old friend as a meeting point after a big gap, as our last come together. such a picturesque little restaurant that offers space both in the interior and in a quiet atmosphere. he started with an excellent cup americano coffee. After we remembered for a past, we decided to eat something. After I had penetrated the menu, I decided to order the aixois lachsburger with a side salad. it came in 20 minutes and was served hot. the special sauce had the perfect amount of flavor that created a wonderful taste. I would suggest stopping here for a unique experience if in the opposite the next time.
