This small restaurant is worth a visit. Be prepared to get messy but you are meant to. The food my family shared was a combination of all seafood in two different sauces. The chilli wasn't too hot and the Baltimore sauce was delicious. Sides were...More View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about St James Crabhouse and Kitchen:
I would not give this place 5 stars.Small and pokey.Limited but not bad wine list. Not many meat options.( fair enough its a crabhouse)No offering of fresh fish and chips.A bit messy when trying to eat most of the seafood courses eg have to peel your own prawns. Not worth driving all the way from Ipswich as we did! Food wasn't great. The Chowder was not very thick and had more potatoes than seafood in it. The Calamari had stringy bits in it. The part of the Auberginen Brooklyn Stack was very small and tasted a bit. No sparkling wine per glass.
This was our third visit within a month, we love the food so much. The Royal Crab in Baltimore Sauce was amazing, although expensive. Our only negative was the service far below expectations, on all three occasions. Hopefully, a good mentor and training will help.
Don't even think about going here. No service. You need to go to bar for a drink and help yourself to a menu. Staff are too busy having group chats to even disturb to run around to do their job. Make sure you get double drinks at the bar because you go before they ask if you want one. The steak was the hardest leather I had ever eaten. In summary, 4 meals and 6 drinks cost $248. And that was self-servant. Hit the face twice if you even think to go into this hole. Never
We have redeemed a Groupon coupon for a meal for 2 (American Boil) with 2 drinks. The staff were friendly and confirmed what we had ordered and bought it quite immediately on a record. While all the advertised items were there, they were all...small and cooked (developed). for example half the bow was the size of half a yarn. Everything had a garlic Baltimore sauce about what was okay. All, even the Spaniard was cooked so much, the bowls were soft. We were still hungry, so we got some chicken wings. Wouldn't mind going back there.
The staffs were great in serving and following up the guests on their orders and food. Great communication skills! The foods were excellent too!
