Went to 2 different Shaka Shakas while in Hawaii. One in Waikiki area and the other I think was this one . Excellent drinks and customer service at both . We were assisted by a young man during our 1st experience in the Waikiki area went to this location 2 times . 2 different young woman , both extremely inviting and friendly. What Thea S doesn't like about Shaka Shaka Tea Express:
I ordered the seasonal Sweet Potato Coconut smoothie and the Chocolate Haupia macaron on employee recommendation. The employee seemed like her life was a joyless one, and I could see why once my order was ready. Both the smoothie and the macaron were the worst I've ever had. The smoothie was watery and bland. Delicious, fresh drinks. Fresh-tasting fruity selections. I tried their Lava smoothie, it's Pina colata flavors with strawberry... Great taste.
Their drinks were good and the cashier was very nice but I got violently ill after to the point where I couldn't even keep water
The smoothie just wasn’t what I expected it to be. When I hear smoothie I think l thick and flavorful. This was more like an icee, but watered down. Plus they were out of several flavors so I had to choose one that wasn’t a top favorite of mine. Not terrible, but just wasn’t what I thought it would be.
The lady at the cashier was extremely nice and always seems in a good mood

I wish that employee the best, and hope she can find joy elsewhere.
