The meal at this restaurant was fantastic, making the journey to Ko Olina well worth it. The short rib was huge and delicious, and the desserts and appetizers were great as well. We ordered two appetizers, two entrees, and two of the specials, and everything was excellent. View all feedback.

They do not take reservations and open at 5 PM. While you wait for your table you can make your way down to the gardens for photos at the gazebo or just the open lawn with surrounding plants and flowers. The food was delicious and I would get everything again. We were fortunate enough to have a spot right at the edge of the restaurant that overlooked the gardens. Service was pretty quick but I think the servers were... View all feedback.
Their is a reason why I always visit this place every time I am on the island, it is just that good. The atmosphere, service, and most importantly the view are incredible. I can’t tell you how flavorful the prime rib is and just how great the view is late in the evening. Get there before opening though because if not the line will definitely be forming. If you can only visit one restaurant on Kaneohe side make it this one.
Amazing service, food, drinks and atmosphere. Fair prices for delicious food. You truly can’t beat the view and wonderful service. Not once did we feel rushed. The little things like extra guava butter and waters always filled. We arrived a little before sunset, had time to walk the gardens and then take our seat. Truly magical place amongst the mountains. We ordered the calamari fries, grilled fish with pesto and lobster sauce over mashed potatoes and the macadamia nut chicken salad. Drinks were delicious and good price! Wish we could dine here every night!
Got there around 4:45, were quoted over an hour and 15 minute wait but were seated probably within about 30 minutes. (The food also came out in a quick pace, but it was not rushed Seafood chowder was VERY tasty (especially the croutons which surprised me Sizzling Mushroom appetizer was simple and delicious. Prime rib was legit. Very fatty and flavorful, well balanced horseradish sauce. Grilled fish was a fun flavor combination and cooked to a good consistency.Non alcoholic drink options were decent, I did a guava-rita, it should have been shaken so the whole thing was cold, but flavor was good.Service was excellent ?? hostesses (and the manager I presume) were polite and made good eye contact, the server was efficient and cleared all plates and they were done.We didnt save room for dessert, but we will definitely be going back just for an appetizer and dessert next time.
We had reservations at a more expensive, fancier restaurant for my birthday but when I saw the pictures of this place, I knew this would be more special. Despite the rain, it was a gorgeous setting. We got there around 4:30pm (no reservations accepted) and walked around the gardens for an hour before we were called to the table. We requested a table along the edge of the restaurant so that we would have a clear view of the scenery. Our server was polite and friendly. My husband enjoyed the prime rib and I had a chicken dish that was very good. For dessert, we shared a huge ice cream pie that was delicious. I felt like I was in a movie as the setting was so perfect. I would advise you to come here, at least for the gardens!
Haleiwa Joe’s is rated #1 in Kaneohe for a reason. The gardens, atmosphere, and food combine for an unparalleled experience. The restaurant does not take reservations, so be prepared for a bit of a wait before being seated. This gives you plenty of time to wander through the lush, beautifully maintained gardens below the restaurant. You can also sit at the bar before being seated and enjoy a delicious cocktail with some appetizers (I recommend the Lime in Da Coconut with a side of calamari or the mushrooms). The restaurant sits on a cliff and looks out over the gardens below facing the Ko’olau mountain range—the view is spectacular. The food is remarkable as well. The baked fish came on a bed of rice with a delicious sweet and sour sauce, and the grilled fish came with potatoes and a decadent creamy lobster sauce. The staff was very accommodating when two of our meals came out lukewarm, and quickly brought out piping hot replacements. I can’t speak for the other dishes, but I’m sure they are excellent as well. All in all, this is a must-do experience.
