The food at the Rideau restaurant is authentic Chinese - a lot of variety for vegetarians as well as meat-eaters. Food is fresh and sizzling when brought to your table. The portions are also very lager so you easily get your money's worth. The staff is very pleasant and if you're not sure what you want, they'll make suggestions. If there are any food allergies (.ie shellfish) let them know in advance. Hot & Sour soup... View all feedback.
What Aubree Kilback doesn't like about Rideau Tavern & Restaurants:
that is a restaurant they should go for eating. you will find a great selection of authentic dresses at a reasonable price. the place is really dated and the service really lacks. they are not rude, they just don't seem interested. more than what is necessary to take their order. I'll go back and try other dishes. View all feedback.
Wow no love for this place at all! Downtown Rideau is a hub between student ghetto, the golden triangle, the Byward Market and some long stretch before you
The Downtown Rideau district covers an area bounded by George Street to the north, King Edward to the east roughly Wilbrod to the south and the Rideau Canal
Been here dozen of times and always the same order of snow peas, salt & pepper squid and general Tao with steamed rice. Can't be beat. Give it a try. Service is always good. No frills but busy at lunch and weekends.
We order take out from here about once a month and it is always good. They get very busy at times, but when you order, it is literally ready in 15 to 20 minutes.
Their food has big size (when compare the other Chinese Restaurant in Kanata) and it wasn't expensive too. However, sometime, you will need to wait for table.
