What Mark S doesn't like about Grá:
On the plus side: lovely atmosphere, attentive service, decent pizza. On the negative side: we need to talk about the mark ups restaurants are making on natural wines these days. The “Éphémère la ferme de Jeanne” red is sold here for $19 a glass. That is literally the retail price of a full bottle for that wine. How is this sustainable for a neighbourhood restaurant, and more importantly it’s clientele? View all feedback.
Pretty good organic sourdough pizza and a really relaxed vibe. Loved sitting in the indoor-outdoor area. They have a selection of natural wines as well. Recommend for a casual date or a hang out spot for friends.
High quality ingredients in a cozy building. Top notch fermented dough with a great selection of toppings.
A cozy pizza spot in a great area.We had the Peach and Burrata Salad, Banger Pizza, complemented with a medium body chilled red wine. The peach and burrata salad was incredible. My first bite was into a perfectly ripe, juicy peach. I asked the waiter if it was locally sourced, and they confirmed by suspicion by saying their fresh ingredients are from the Santa Monica Farmers market. The cheese and oils made for am incredibly savory salad that was fresh, sweet, and tasty. The banger pizza was also very good. I know that the sourdough is this place's claim to fame, and it very much loved up to the hype. One of my favorite parts was the crust, it had a good crisp, but the center was so doughy and warm. My only complaint about the pizza was that I loved all the ingredients so much, I just wish there was a little more of everything. I thought the balance and spread within the pizza was good, it is it was disappointing when I would have bites of just dough and sauce, although it was still good, I feel like they could've been a bit more generous with the toppings. The wine recommendations were spot on, and we really loved the vibe inside. There were great records on the wall, had an amazing open kitchen where you can see your food being prepped.I would recommend getting a reservation, as we were seated at the community tables that wasn't my preferred arrangement, but it was great to be able to get a walk-in on the weekend.I do like how spread out the interior is, it allows for a great date night, or a fun time vibing to the music without having to yell to get your group to hear you.Highly recommend this place.
Incredible Pizza. Thin, italian Pizza with a delicious Tomato Sauce that I havnt found it anywhere else in the US so far. Great vibe, good music.
The sourdough pizza lived up to the hype! Had the special and the white pizza. The white pizza I could eat every day, and the special provided the extra oomf to the meal
