Booked in for a Business review meeting at the Les Violettes hotel. The hotel is set in an area close to a forest. Nice surroundings. The restaurant was buffet style with a wide selection hot and cold meals and salads to choose from. Wide selection of beverages was available at the bar. I had a vegetarian pasta. View all feedback.
What Toine M doesn't like about Le Jardin des Violettes:
Les Violettes has a nice looking restaurant and a cosy bar. We had dinner with a group and enjoyed a preset menu. The food was not in line with the price and wine severely overpriced. View all feedback.
Much to our dismay, we stayed in the hotel for one night only but had the privilege to enjoye its complimetary services including the restaurant twice- evening and morning. We had a wonderful dinner with tasty dishes and professional service. We relied on the waiter to choose the appropriate wine and the choice was excellent. Recommended plates we enjoyed include:Le Fois gras de canard, Troute fumee, le Burger style Rossini, Tournedos de boeuf and the Panna Cotta a la vanill et sorbet mascrapone. Next morning we had another wonderful breakfast, with an unfinished array of salads, cheese, multiple styles of eggs preparation, wide assortment of freshly squeezed juices and Cremant, the local version of champagne .

The two restaurants were a BIG disappointment. The Brasserie has a very limited menu and is only open in the evening. At lunch you can eat in the Violettes restaurant, which offers you the same menu as in the Brasserie, plus a buffet with the option between two main courses (the vegetarian option coming from the Brasserie menu). In the evening, the Violettes offers a set menu and it is not at all clear that you can use the menu as a la carte , and have to request the prices. Fresh produce is used in both restaurants, hence the limited menus, but the quality of the cooking left a bit to be desired for a 4* hotel (over-cooked fresh pasta drenched in sauce on the first evening and an over-cooked steak the following lunch, plus slightly undercooked boeuf bourgignon). The restaurant staff are welcoming and efficient. Due to the limited choice, after 3 nights at the hotel, the menus became very boring. There is another restaurant in the village belonging to the same company if you decide to walk down.
The restaurant is beautiful but the menu is very limited The service was very good and friendly I was disappointed that the coffee served was Nespresso as I have this coffe at home and I expect a restaurant quality coffee when I dine out in a special place
Je tiens à signaler que ce restau n'existe pas à Soultz. il y a confusion avec un restaurant " les violettes " à 3 km d'ici, au village de Jungholtz. merci au site tripaviseur de faire supprimer cette page
