Awesome. Great from top to bottom if you love nature, great service and excellent food. Great getaway for couples or the entire family 15 min. From Matagalpa proper.
Definitely worth coming. The climate is more temperate and lots of challenging trails if you are an experienced hiker. There are a couple easier trails but the majority require a reasonable fitness level. The accommodations are decent if a little spartan but everything is clean and well looked after. Some of our group did the coffee tour and really enjoyed it. Weekends have a good buffet for breakfast and dinner. The a la carte menu is not large but there is a little something for everyone. All the food is sourced locally at the farm and the coffee is really good. We drank a lot. The food is probably a 3.5 out of 5 so don't expect gourmet but it is good and well priced. The only surprise was that breakfast was not included in the room rate. If we had 1 complaint it would be the lack of a comfortable lounge chair or Hammock to park yourself in with your favorite book and beverage.
Peaceful and beautiful. we visited the day and enjoyed walking in the forests and eating some surprising German foods in the restaurant. would definitely recommend this place for anyone who wants quiet time in nature. look at the fairytale chapel.
