Place is soooo cool! Visiting from New Mexico, we're looking for a restaurant and I googled and it popped up. I was a little skeptical because it said it was a school/ hotel/ theater/bar. But we went anyway. Walked in and there was a cute gift shop on the left. On the right was the hotel check in we followed the signs to the restaurant, food was a bit overpriced, service could be a little friendlier but that was a pa... View all feedback.
What Veronica K doesn't like about Mcmenamins Concordia Brewery:
McMenamins as a whole is pretty middle of the road when it comes to both food and drink, but I'm still drawn to their business model and actually really liked this location. It's such a unique use of a former elementary school and I think they really turned it into an interesting location. We had lunch at the Courtyard restaurant and it was pretty good, I have no real complaints. I wish I'd got to try the soaking poo... View all feedback.

On the right was the hotel check in we followed the signs to the restaurant, food was a bit overpriced, service could be a little friendlier but that was a pattern we experienced in Portland. They had a soaking pool, open to the public and I guess the restaurant chain is owned by brothers and they buy buildings and create secret rooms. Nuff said check it out and buy some souvenirs! The black widow porter is delish!
A fun kitschy gem to visit in PDX, definitely a fun place and great novelty in seeing a school transformed into a brewery hotel. Staff here is super chill and accommodating. As for the beers, I had the trippy cider, kennedy School Kolsch, West of Da Mitten IPA, and the Gnome'r J Simpson Hazy IPA. The tripppy cider the hazy ipa were the true winners. However, I'm not a kolsch guy, and saw a ton of people ordering that
Words can't explain how cool this place is.Old school turned into a hotel with many establishments within... you get the history, the local Portland scene, and a lodging situation all in one. There's a brewery, a restaurant, a bar, and a lot more I just haven't been able to see in the one hour I got to hang here.Highly recommend
This is another gem in the McMenamins line of fun, historical establishments and by far my favorite! Been here many times over the years actually even had my very first lobster roll EVER here (as a special item years ago) and it was amazing. The vibe is so quirky you definitely feel like you're walking the halls of your old elementary school except there are bars and a lively restaurant and even a brewery haha!! The staff has always been super welcoming and friendly. The food at their main Courtyard Restaurant has always been great. On my last visit (July 2023), I had their chicken salad sandwich on croissant and it was SO GOOD!! Even their tater tots were perfectly cooked. And they even have some of the best iced tea I've had outside of the south! Their menu changes seasonally so it's always a treat to try something new. After eating, leave time to explore the grounds are just gorgeous and you'll get lost in the nostalgia as you wander around the old school's hallways. They have several bars one is huge and has total steampunk vibes. They have a small hotel and a salt water pool even the bathrooms are beautiful. I'd definitely like to stay here next time but I imagine it can be a tad spooky at night haha! The school opened back in 1915 so it's a historic building. The wall art is gorgeous and there are lots of info signs and historical pics scattered around. It's in a good location in north Portland with plenty of parking and easy to find. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in the area!
We are outside and enjoyed a lovely afternoon lunch. My friend said it was a great tuna sandwich. We enjoyed our server Ashley. I bring all my out of town guests here and they live it. I also found out that you don't have to stay at the hotel to use the soaking pool.
