Great pub on the Thames with Riverside Patio dining. Been here a few times now and the staff are good Souf Londoners and are friendly and welcoming. Good selection of ales and the food is superb, give this a go, but gets busy on sunny warm days. View all feedback.
What X1498LPjohnh doesn't like about Anchor Hope:
Party of 5 arrived 11.45 am on a Charlton match day. Only 1 other customer in bar so ordered food. One meal arrived in around 15 minutes, but no sight of other 4 meals. Friend finished her meal and we chased again (now an hour after ordering). Told would be another 20 minutes (perhaps). Pub now packed. Decided to keep 2 of the orders which took another half hour and had a refund for the other 2 as they couldn’t wait... View all feedback.
Been going here for a Sunday roast for years and I can honestly say it's the best in the area! We won't go any where else on a Sunday as nothing compares to it!! Food is all home cooked and the plate is full! The staff are all welcoming and so is the owner it has such a great atmosphere!! We have nipped in for lunch during the week also and it's just as good ! Your missing a great Sunday roast if you have never been
This is a traditional pub, lovely outside seating along the river Thames. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. The food is basic pub food but very well cooked and good portion sizes you wont go home hungry, There is a sea food stall and pizza bar outside which is great, you can eat both with- in the pubs seating area. Dogs are welcome. Been a couple of times and everyone that has been drinking eating outside has been friendly. Music was playing outside and they sometimes have a singer. Lovely view when the lights along the Thames start to come on. There is free parking around the area.
This restaurant is a great spot to grab a drink with amazing views and friendly and attentive staff. It's a traditional pub with a cozy atmosphere.
Upon entering, we informed the bartender that we had a reservation at 17:30. She led us to our table, provided some water and treats for our dog, and took our orders for a chicken roast, turkey roast, and drinks. The food arrived quickly and was absolutely delicious. We even received a visit from the chef, who inquired about our meal. We praised the food, and he returned to offer us dessert. When I requested a menu, it was promptly provided with a wide selection of desserts. I ordered a warm chocolate fudge cake and a warm orange cake, both served with ice cream instead of cream, which was not a problem. The presentation of the desserts was fantastic, and they were delicious. The friendly staff and attentive chef really made our experience special. The fact that the chef cared enough to personally check on us speaks volumes about the quality of the food. We would definitely return and recommend this restaurant to other couples with dogs.
