This is a 3-star hotel that should be 4 stars. extremely clean with friendly and helpful staff. our double room was spacious and had a balcony overlooking the freshwater bay. it had a large and very comfortable bed, new and attractive carpets and had been recently decorated. the bathroom was immaculate, fully tiled with plenty of hot water, a bath and a separate shower cabin. eating was good with a lot of choice, inexpensive, generous portions, healthy and local with friendly waiting staff. the restaurant is well equipped with sea view and a table is allocated during your stay. the only mistake was asked to pay each evening for drinks, as we had begun to eat our appetizers, and the bottle with a cork screw on the table knocked down. it is quite stupid that everyone hears not only what they have chosen, but how much it costs, and grapples with cutlery, wallets and card machines if they have already paid in advance for all accommodation and the meal. it would be much more normal to sit discretely in the bar or during the reception after departure. it makes a wonder what kind of guests they normally host. we are in our 70s, we had signed a disclaimer and the hotel had our personal and credit card data, our car registration and we live only over christchurch bay, 10 miles away, as the crow flies but a 50 miles drive with the road and red funnel ferry). there was also a immaculately clean square indoor pool with whirlpool, and my ladies and hearts change rooms. free parking is available with a voucher that is provided by the hotel in a pay-and-display area, and there is a discount booking directly with the albion hotel for the southampton ferry service.
We enjoyed our stay in the hotel rooms that we are very spacious and comfortable. the personal was beautiful.
Bring your car, a good book. nice plan, friendly staff, best place for stargazing.
We had a wonderful stay at The Albion. Our room was spacious with a large bathroom and shower, and it was very clean. We were on the ground floor with a beautiful view of the beach. The bar was a lovely place to relax in the evening and watch the beach activities. The bartender, Dillon, was polite and friendly. The receptionist was also nice and helpful. However, we were not pleased with the food package that required a fixed payment of £30 per day for the entire stay. Our only complaint was the parking situation, as our view was often blocked by cars parked in the small space between the hotel and the beach. Despite this inconvenience, we had a great stay and would definitely return.
The hotel is nice but looks a bit worn on the outside and could use a fresh coat of paint and some weeding. The food was delicious, well-prepared, and served in just the right portions. The beds and rooms were comfortable. The staff was very friendly and welcoming.
