It was strange-passed through many vacant and run down places and once we got to the restaurant it was like entering another world. Clean, tons of great food and good service. We has shrimp with heads on and grouper pasta with a pineapple dessert with ice cream-we fought over that dessert. It was a complicated ride to the place but worth it all the same. Meal for two was around $90 but we View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Limon:
They used to be good, then they moved and weren't good at all, now they have moved back but don't have their full menu available. Wanted a steak and they were out????? It's like going to a hot dog stand and they don't have hot dogs but they are like hey would you like some chips? No!!!! I will never in my life again book a reservation with this place. I am so done with them. View all feedback.
We went to Limon on Mon Mar 20 for dinner. Sergio and his staff did not disappoint! Strawberry daiquiris were delicious! Dinner was fantastic. We had the platter for two which had filet mignon, shrimp, ribs, chorizo, tuna, grilled zucchini, potatoes, onions and green onions. It was so tender and flavourful! Just divine! A friend had the chicken satay and said it was wonderful. Our waiter was very attentive, and Sergio came over and asked how dinner was. Very friendly and humble. We will be returning before we leave Isla for sure! This was an absolute highlight of our trip! Thanks Sergio for an unforgettable dinner! You are a Grill Master, Master Chef
Both my wife and I were directed by a foodie friend. We made reservations and requested lobster when doing so. We sat in an upper balcony area overlooking the busy activity of the exceptional staff, and the owner chef prepare grilled items off the menu. My wife had traditional lobster and I had Sergio's lobster, which was incredibly rich with a cheese sauce, it was wonderful. We also had the avocado salad, truly special. Plenty of other options are available, and with our view, it was evident people were very pleased. P.S. I couldn't finish my lobster that night, a rare thing, the salad contributed greatly to that. The leftovers were enjoyed.
Perhaps it was an off night but our recent visit did not live up to previous ones. Our waiter seemed disinterested throughout, never telling us what was not available until we ordered it (2 different items), never checking in during our meal, never asking if we wanted a second glass of wine. Food was ok but nothing extraordinary for such a pricey meal.
When we read all the great reviews, we made reservations in anticipation of a busy place. Imagine our surprise when we got there and we’re the only diners! Now, it was only 6:00, and a Wednesday night, but still…pretty weird. The staff said it was a slow night!! Anyway, we got incredible service and even had a few laughs with the servers. Other diners began to arrive, as did our food, which didn’t disappoint. We had two different shrimp dinners and they were both delicious. The dinner was a bit expensive, but overall worth the experience. Warning: the place is REALLY hard to find!! On a side street and a small front. Plus, the streets are poorly marked so we drove around asking people! We’d have never found it in the dark! One tip is, it’s near the park with the colorfully painted steps and a white gazebo, by the police station.
We tried Limon after some friends highly recommended it and we were not disappointed. We sat up in the “treehouse” which was really cool. If you order the lobster tail they bring out a couple samples so you can choose the size you want. The food was really good and our server Anthony was great. It’s a little pricey but definitely worth it.
