absolutely delicious! I got the gogi slider and was very happy with it. we shared the garlic edamame, the bark tongue and the deep fritted noodle cups. the Fusions were exactly what my father was looking for, he said they were fantastic. great small space with great service! View all feedback.
What Polly H doesn't like about Urban Seoul:
Horrible... Should have known better when everyone reported a different menu/owner. They gladly took the groupon but that's because we paid for absolute trash. We ended up throwing away all the food and I'm sure we will be sick after the few bites we had... Additionally we were definitely overcharged for the popcorn chicken. Menu price is lower than what is actually charged. Curry fish was horrible. Fish was inedible... View all feedback.
Food is super affordable and high quality. I have the bibimbap, wings and cheese corn and it was Fab
They really switched things up here! I was very confused because last time I came here it was a Korean Mexican fusion restaurant but they serve Taiwanese food too now and their menu has changed a lot!! The menu also says Herb and Spice instead of Urban Seoul. Seems like they still use Urban Seoul as their name though? We got the Loaded Waffle Fries, Braised Pork Belly and the Beef Noodle Soup. The Waffle Fries were probably the best thing in our order. A great hefty portion with a variety of toppings and waffle cajun fries. Super tasty. The Braised Pork Belly was quite decent as well. The meat was incredibly soft and practically melted in my mouth as I ate it. I was expecting the dish to come with more stuff though, since it was quite pricey. The Beef Noodle Soup was alright. Not the best one we've ever had but certainly not bad. We got it Hot, and it was actually pretty damn spicey, so definitely be mindful of that. The food was prepared very promptly and the staff members are pretty personable and nice. Definitely a solid option for some quick take-out at DJ!!
When Seoul meets stomach. A few weeks back, our team spent a portion of the afternoon dining at Urban Seoul in Irvine. This location is semi casual compared to their second restaurant at the Irvine Spectrum. The inside is relatively small, with a variety of tables and booths lining the walls. Outside there is also 2 3 patio seats. We opt'd to sit on their high top patio tables to get some extra needed sunlight. Since the menu looks absolutely delicious, we ordered a smorgasbord to share! This included: Street Corn my all time favorite item. Garlic, cheese, and yummy spices all mixed in with corn. This creamy corn was absolutely delicious and the perfect appetizer. Pork Belly Street Tacos this dish comes with three tacos with your choice of meat. The tacos are topped with lettuce, house sauce, and spicy aioli. Since I'm a bit of a wimp, I exchanged the spicy aioli for garlic sauce. Crabby Patty my god. I've always wondered what a Crabby Patty would taste like and Urban Seoul's did not disappoint. This sandwich is filled with fresh tasty crab, arugula, lemon aioli, pickled Serrano chili, meshed between a brioche bun. Waffle Fries you can never go wrong with fries! These loaded waffle fries were topped with spicy aioli, gogi, mixed cheese, herbs, and pickled red onion. Every item here was absolutely fantastic and left us wanting more. The service was also attentive, and our server consistently went out of his way to customize items to my spice level.
Urban Seoul is not what it used to be. I should've known better when they didn't have kimchi fried rice anymore. The entire restaurant is different now, I feel like maybe they should use different name. It's really misleading. To us the food was a little overpriced for what they are. My friend paid $14 for a piece of pork belly, bland egg drop soup (almost like it's just hot water), and cold mac n cheese. Personally mac n cheese did not go with the meal regardless that it looked like it came out of one of those instant mac n cheese. 2 of my other friends ordered fried chicken with curry and it came out differently for some reason. One the chicken has sauce on it but the other one does not. We were really disappointed. Maybe it would have been fine if the price was 50% less.
Updated menu. Listed in my photos below. Happy hours are from Sunday to Thursday . 5-7pm. Got the crabby patty , the lechon kuwali rice bowl and the strawberry cheese milk tea . Crabby patty needed some sauce so I suggest the pickled jalapeños the chef makes or the pico de gallo extra side to drench with the buns. Rice bowl was nice. Wish it was a little bigger as my gf was digging into my food after :p The addition of Filipino beers was fun to try since it's crafted by a female brewer and won awards (I liked the amber ale) .
