We went here on mothers day and it was delicious. The lobster portion was huge and was filling. There wasn't a wait since we had a reservation. However, the service was just okay. The food took quite a long time to come out and there were crumbs and food on our table that wasn't cleaned until we asked. I expected better service for a restaurant that is fancy. The food was delicious and well seasoned though. View all feedback.
What Peter Littel doesn't like about Davio's Northern Italian Steakhouse Irvine, Ca:
Have been here several times and I can't help but feel that the kitchen isn't quite giving it their all. Salads are decent. Maybe not the freshest. Pizza was extremely underwhelming. Pre made base, new York bready style, very little flavour and ingredients seemed cheap. Not sure if I would go again. That said, service was excellent and decor/ ambience was great View all feedback.
The culinary experience at davio’s is excellent. everything I tried was amazing. pasta, steak, seafood and dessert. they have everything. the service is also great. try a appetizer for a pasta dish and then grab a beautiful filet for their main course. the steak was perfectly prepared. to dessert I had a chocolate lava cake that was simply magical. the prices are definitely at the upper end, but the food corresponds to the price. try it worth.
Davio deserves 5/5 every day! I was on Saturday night as a two party. I was warmly welcomed by the staff and especially by the general manager yurii. he was super friendly from the beginning and accompanied us to a beautiful and spacious stand. once we sat, an amazing server, valerie, greeted us and was also in the night incredibly sweet! I had high expectations when I came here, but davio exceeded my expectations! here are my insights about my entire experience: drinks: we have water with a glass moscato and le tre more. the moscato had such a beautiful, sweet taste, it was almost like a dessert before our meal. le tre more is a much stronger wine that tasted quite fruity. they add a hauch of some berries on the side that made the whole glass look. APPETIZERS/ANTIPASTI: for appetizers aka antipasti we have proposed their crab cakes as they are known for it. it was a many baked lump cake with full grain. it was the best crab cake I ever tried in my life. fully meat, well cooked, aromen burst in my mouth, just perfect. this was also served with popovers. these are well baked and the outer layer was crisp, but very chewing and soft on the inside. Entrees: entrees, we have a pan roasted maine lobster with creamy kartoffels, green beans, lemon terragon butter and 30 unzen prime porterhouse with rainbow carrots. the maine lobster was kunker than many other restaurants. they cooked it really well, without fishy taste or smell. the sauce they put on the dish, complicated it and the creamy kartoffels were padded underneath. if they love seafood, there is no possibility that they go wrong with this teller. the 30 oz prime porterhouse was simply excellent. we wanted it to be cooked medium and it was perfectly a medium. there were different parts of the meat on the T bone and I think it is more exciting to try. different parts mean different taste and texture. I can't stress more about how perfect this steak was. best steak I tried in my life! the steak also came with three sauces we asked: davios steak sauce, gorgonzola and bearnaise. I personally and exceptionally enjoyed the gorgonzola, but they all taste really good! the rainbow carrots tasted so much better than normal carrots that it almost seemed like they weren’t even carrots! super tasty! desserts: davio’s does this thing where it asks you whether they even serve mediocre food/services because everything just tasted and looked out on top notch. but the desserts have not failed us. the mascarpone strawberry cheesecake gave me the feeling that other cheesecakes are not even cheesecakes. it had a light tarty taste, but still sweet. the strawberries fit well next to the cake and I loved how soft every bite was. Staff: they can already say how good the management runs in this area when they see that everyone looks really happy. from hostess to server, manager, to cook, etc. they all looked like they enjoyed their time there. everyone was professional and made sure we had the best experience. I would like to thank anny deese personally for the fact that this has happened, the general manager yurii, our best server valerie and the other manager fabion, because we always keep on running with bright smiles. all the employees seemed busy, but that didn't mean they didn't interest us. also the chefs and other chefs in the open kitchen were friendly. they can say they are very experienced with the attempt to perfect any dish. thank you for being a great part of this amazing dinner. atmosphere: the whole restaurant is spacious and has enough seating. lots of space for many people. I was amazed how clean and well organized it also kept the restaurant. it is not especially simple for such a huge space, but every little detail was on the point. Overall I loved it here and will definitely be filled again for another heart in.
Very expensive but high quality gourmet food. the lunch starts at 11:30 a.m. with a full menu as well as a prix fixed menu including appetizer, freeze and dessert for $25. I had the prix fixed menu. the clam chowder suppe was excellent. the best flat iron steak of all time. with a beautiful rich harbour wine-reduction sauce. they also have a small business right in the entrance, the prefabricated quick grab and go options like sandwiches and suppen. the merchant is already open 7 o'clock and offers breakfast sandwiches in the morning.
Excellent food. The interior is cozy with candles at each table in the evening. There is valet parking as well as self-parking. They do validate your parking. The bread and butter they start you with is amazing. The bread was warm and has just the right amount of chewiness and cheesiness. The dishes were very flavorful and portions plentiful. The restaurant would make a good place for corporate events or special dinners.
