Contribute FeedbackA rushed and disappointing dining experience left guests regretting their choice of a pretentious and overpriced restaurant. The service was subpar, with issues ranging from lack of reservations to slow service and poor quality of food. However, some diners were impressed by the eclectic atmosphere and inventive dishes. Despite mixed reviews, a standout was the lamb shank, which was described as tender and flavorful. Overall, the restaurant was deemed a hidden gem by some, while others found it lacking in various aspects, from service to food quality. It's recommended to make reservations and manage expectations.
Danny had the braised lamb shank and I had the Artic Char. Starting with the calamari and the desert trio and espresso crème brule for afters. We enjoyed a bottle of pino gris/pino blanc blend from Quail 's Gate to accompany our meal. As I suffer...from IBS I require a low FODMAP menu and the chef was so accommodating. THANK YOU! Shauna was an excellent server and made Danny feel quite special for his birthday, even having the restaurant guests join in with a rendition of Happy Birthday! Our meals was delicious and the environment entertaining.
Had a lovely meal at Birchwood. Caesar salad and the calamari was delicious. Jerk chicken over sweet potato hash was amazing and had a lot of lovely fresh vegetables with it. Shrimp noodle bowl also very good. We love the fact they have a gluten free menu! Pretty good wine menu as well
In short, a totally rushed $400 dinner for 4 with mediocre food and a manager who would hang on you while discussing why you are not satisfied with your culinary experience! Our guests were embarrassed. Will never recommend this pretentious place for everyone. Wish... the beach restaurant is still there!!
We took a friend who had never been there. He had the Escargot of the Lambry I always have the Rindduo Although a bit expensive. (With current food shortage problems)We had very good meals as per visit there. Hope... this helps scholarship holders. Oh, yeah, I recommend a reso. Works.
My wife and I went here for dinner after hearing a review from a local. We were seated in the covered patio which was cute and rustic and certainly warm enough to be super comfortable. We started dinner with a specialty cocktail that was very...good. We had the escargot and kale Caesar for starters which perfect perfectly delicious. We both had the Artic char and it was excellent, broth had a nice mix of French spices and generous portions. We finished the meal with the expresso crème brûlée which was super delicious. The service was wonderful and we were taken care of very well by Chantal. Overall great experience for a restaurant in a small town trying to stick out above the rest. Not quite certain why the bad reviews below, guess we are just easier to to please: .
