determined to make a little road trip to Invercargill and wanted a nice place to dinner and I must say that the saucy chef is not disappointed. eating was amazing and when someone who never had before I was super impressed by how delicious it was and how well everything was paired together on the plate. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone and will come back as soon as I can! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about The Saucy Chef:
Decor and feel a little tired a bit reminiscent of the 1980s. A little overpriced. Service was great. Menu could do with a trim maybe, a little too varied maybe just pick a few solid faves and concentrate on them. View all feedback.

It's very popular, food is generally very good but my battered oysters disappointed as the batter was only par-cooked. To give wait staff their due the offet of a couple more was made, but declined. Will go again.
Excellent service, delicious meals and bringing kids meal out fast was outstanding!!
We arrived without a booking on a wild, rainy, cold night, and they were fully booked. They made some calls to find us somewhere else, but everything was booked so they made a space for us. The food was delicious and generous, the staff were wonderful, and we appreciated a really lovely dinner. Vegetarian options: Lots of options Kid friendliness: Proper food delicious!
Such a fabulous meal! Had the Vegetable Stack, a tough choice as all the vegetarian options were so appealing! The staff were so lovely and attentive, and the desert was yummy beyond words, will definitely be returning next trip to Invercargill!!!! Vegetarian options: Really appealing options I'd have been happy with any of them. But the vegetable stack was superb! Parking: Easy parking in the carpark adjoining the restaurant.
