One of our favorite restaurants in Innsbruck. Food presentation was interesting but the food was still super tasty. Tartar was excellent and the octopus salad was one of the best I have had. Main of fish was fresh and light. Service was excellent and the pacing of the meal made for a great evening. View all feedback.
What Hiên Trần doesn't like about Agnello Nero:
The place is very nice: modern and beautiful. Once we have ordered we have waited approx 45 minutes before getting our food . We have ordered different fish's carpaccio and then home made pasta with fish. The quality of the food was very good: fresh fish used for carpaccio. However, the shrimps carpaccio were overpriced . We got only 4 slices of shrimps for 18 €! Additionally the sea food with pasta was a little bit... View all feedback.
We picked this place randomly... wanted some Italian food after all! We we got there we were greeted by an Italian waitress who looked like the owner. The restaurant atmosphere is really nice and romantic (candle lights at each table, etc).the service was impeccable. the owner helped us with the menu and suggested wines (3 glasses). we had prosciutto for starters then ravioli and caneloni. for dessert creme brulle.everything was delicious. the owner constantly checked on us. we spent 65 Eur.if you are in Innsbruck , drop by! it's worth it!!!
My Italian husband and I found the food to be great as far as Italian restaurants abroad go. He had a delicious eggplant Parmesan and a seafood pasta (he says it could have been a bit more flavorful) and I had sea bream which was very fresh and good quality. The owner (Italian) and staff were extremely friendly, helpful and accommodating and the restaurant was very elegant and modern in terms of decor. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for genuine Italian cuisine.
I ate at Agnello Nero as part of a group of eight people, celebrating a birthday. We arrived at 19:30 and promptly ordered food after receiving our drinks. We were given a complimentary appetiser which was delicious - a small puff pastry with a creamy tuna filling. Bread and oil followed soon after, but we waited for over 1.5 hours for our food to arrive. All tables were booked, however this is no excuse to wait for 1.5 hours for food to arrive on a Saturday evening. There was no apology from the waiters, who did not seem overly stressed, but were relatively busy. No extra appetiser was given to fill the 1.5 hour wait. When the food arrived, the dishes were extremely well presented, but embarrassingly small. The (only) vegetarian dish on the menu consisted on five pieces of ravioli with a spinach and mozzarella filling, and the paccheri salsiccia was simply 8 pasta pieces with some sausage on top. The same was to be said of the lamb dishes - great presentation, but far too small. With the pasta dishes costing around €15 and the meat dishes €25+, one would expect high quality cuisine, but this simply was not the case. The meals were not bad, please don't get me wrong, but for a starter-sized plate of pasta costing €15, you expect high quality dining. The restaurant itself is a lovely place, in a good location, right next to Höttingergasse, so very easy to access on foot, via public transport and also with adequate parking in the city for arriving by car.The bill at the end of the evening wasn't particularly expensive, however it was extremely poor value for money, and the eternal wait for the food was infuriating. We eat out in Innsbruck once every one to two weeks, and this is the worst dining experience I have experienced in all my time in the city.We returned home after a hugely disappointing meal and cooked for ourselves because we were still so hungry.I do hope that this was a one-off for Agnello Nero. For such a high-class restaurant, this was really a big disappointment. Sadly, my friends and I won't be returning.
