We did not stay at the inn but celebrated a birthday with dinner at the Castlerock Country Inn. Service was good and the food was amazing! We reserved a table by the window because of the incredible view over Ingonish Harbor. View all feedback.
What Peeter P doesn't like about Avalon Restaurant:
While staying for one night at the Castle Rock Country Inn, we ventured forth to dinner at the Avalon, not wishing to spend too much time on the road to another location. Nice but not spectacular view in a small dining room. Service was pleasant but very, very slow. Menu was limited but because we were in Nova Scotia, we both opted for the seafood medley. Four shrimp, four scallops were done well as was the haddock.... View all feedback.
This restaurant is a wonderful spot for breakfast! The staff is friendly and the food is of good quality. The atmosphere is lovely and the place is very clean. We especially enjoyed their excellent coffee to go on our way out.
Top place for breakfast and lunch, open every day from 7 15 h
We had a very good lunch at the Bean Barn Cafe. We had a cheese and ham sandwich and a bowl of chilly. The quality was very good. The staff was friendly and very fast. Also the interior of the cafe was nice. I can advice anyone to go and have breakfast or lunch at the Bean Barn Cafe.
We stopped by for a quick lunch and tried the crispy chicken sandwich and seafood chowder, both of which were very good. This restaurant is known for their delicious sweets. While we were dining, we noticed a few customers ordering oat cakes in bulk, so we decided to try them too. They were a tasty snack! We also noticed some oats and molasses bread behind the counter that was made for the staff. When we asked about purchasing some, we were told it was not for sale. However, when we opened our bag later that day, we found a piece of the bread inside. It was also delicious! Thank you for the unexpected treat.
The breakfast and lunch at this restaurant are amazing! The breakfast sandwich features a real fried egg and smoked ham that is cured for 18 hours. The chowder for lunch is packed with seafood and just the right amount of cream. The scones are also delicious with a crispy crust and soft interior.
