New Year's Eve dinner for two. Service (Brie), food, and ambiance very nice. Only negative was being told after we were seated our table was good for 1 hour due to holiday and other reservations. Didn't feel rushed but aware of time and checked my watch a couple of times. A big part of timing is restaurant service. Will return. View all feedback.
What PhilippeV doesn't like about Catello's Italian Art Cuisine Indy:
Appalling in all aspects! One of the worst culinary experience of my life, and I've been to a few restaurants in my lifetime. We booked a reservation for New Year's eve dinner to find out the Castleton location was closing and the whole night went downhill from there. Indecent wait, subpar food, pathetic service. Avoid at all costs the Pendleton location. Despicable all around!!! View all feedback.
We came and sat for 20 minutes and never had a server to the table. we sat at the door that opened and closed all the time. we went to the reception and asked for a repetition, as I was very cold and just came over a virus. they refused to respect us. when we decided to go easy, 20 people were in front with reservations and waited to sit. 10 more people outside. the woman at the reception was very rude and told the people if they were not happy, they could just go. they had significantly overbooked the restaurant and had insufficient waiting staff, which was completely overwhelmed. when we checked in, there was a very unfriendly sign that a party of 2 should not stay more than 45 minutes. Of course, after 20 minutes we never saw a waiting staff when we were there. this is our first visit in this restaurant about 1 year. we will not be back!
Staff were totally overwhelmed by the number of guests, totally overbooked, seated in a very noisy room, no service, not even water for 20 min, then told by hostess that if we didn't like it we should leave, which is what we did and will not go back
We dined at Catello's Italian Art Cuisine Indianapolis location with two other couples on New Year's Eve (12/31/22). All of the avaiable tables were filled. Much to our surprise we learned that they were closing the Indianapolis location the following day. To their credit, the quality of the food was still very good and the staff, who were largely faced with losing their jobs at the close of the evening, were friendly and very attentive. The food service was slow but that was entirely attributable to being understandably understaffed. Accordingly, we highly recommend that you try their Pendleton, Indiana location, which we intend to do!
Angela was taking names of people who had reservations at the entrance. We, along with several other parties, had reservations at 7:45 and evidently the earlier seated parties were still lingering at their tables causing a large crowd at the entrance waiting to get in. Angela got frustrated and became very condescending with all of us, saying that if we don't like it we can leave and go down the street! She was very rude and projected a very bad image for your restaurant. Your espresso/coffee machine was broken and we were unable to get coffee after our meal not good for New Year's Eve.
Shrimp scampi was bland. Three of the clams or mussels in the mixed seafood pasta were not open. Never should have been served. The tomatoes on Caprese salad lacked flavor. Hardly any basil on the salad. I loved the atmosphere of main dining room but food was not impressive especially given the price point.
