Great food, great atmosphere. I came during lunch, the waitress was on things and even ran the bar. Pizza was fantastic. The sauce was sturdy and all ingredients were fresh. Absolutely come back when I'm in town! View all feedback.
What Allen L doesn't like about Pick Axe Pizza:
Only tried the build your own Calzone. The Calzone was good from the firewood oven. The service was attentive and polite. The atmosphere was mellow, we were the only ones eating at that time around noon. I'm sure Pickaxe gets rowdy on the weekends. The surroundings were dated with a hodgepodge of things all around. I'm not a picky or snobby person it's just an observation. I did like the historical pictures in the ha... View all feedback.
Great atmosphere and staff, but the pizza was a farewell. We spent the day in and around Idaho Springs and had a wonderful day with a surprise spade! We decided to try pickaxe pizza because the whole family loves wood-fired pizza. The bar, restaurant and outdoor areas were cozy and welcoming and we enjoyed some vintage arcade games while waiting for our cake. We went for a veggie cake when we had BBQ for lunch. When the pizza came out and we dug into us, we were greeted with little taste in the crust, sauce and cheese and while the veggies were tasty they were done under, how was the pale crust. Maybe it was a free day or a new cook, but somehow, with so many good options in the city I am not sure that we would return.
Very great atmosphere and the pizza give Beau Jo's a run for their money! They even had a little arcade area! BBQ Pizza was delicious!
Delicious pizza! Seriously the chicken bacon ranch pizza and the philly pizza are both fantastic. The crust is crispy and light, toppings fresh and flavorful. Definitely recommend

We landed here when we discovered that the place was closed over the road (we are not local in the area) and we were very hungry. The woman at the front was basically superwoman she was at the hostess stand, she bartended, and she both waited for AND-occupied tables.... All with excellent service and a smile. She honored our request to make the gyro milk for free, and the pizza was delicious. I'm just sorry I didn't catch her name. If you are in the area, I highly recommend this place!
