We had the cowboy cut ribeye steak for two. Potatoes and baked onions. They brought everything together hot, but the steak was rarely ordered. It was raw and cool inside. We sent it back. They came back within 3 minutes and the manager apologized. It was still purple inside, far from medium rare. We sent it back. This time 5 minutes. In the meantime, the potato would have been cold, so we ate it and the onions were c... View all feedback.
Amazing food. I just chose the place because he was so close, but I would drive 100 miles for this meal. I did not make a reservation, but was able to sit at the bar, which was still a great time with amazing service. I'm sorry, I'm eating everything else before I make pictures.
I have to say best pasta I had in a while. The Clam Chowder was perfectly seasoned with what I think was chili powder and it was absolutely delicious. The servers were amazing and friendly and on everything that this was just a wonderful thing to stop step for a meal. 100% recommended.
I have no doubt that Jakers was an amazing high-end restaurant at some point. This is no longer the case. The amount of money we spent here was more than any other restaurant in East Idaho, and the food was the worst we ever tasted. My husband and I have heard amazing things about Jakers for years, so we decided to try. We expected the high price day, as well as amazing food. Only one of our anticipation has been fulfilled. For appetizers we got coconuts and they were delicious. I was shocked how big they were. There were only 4, but we were all right about that, given their size. If that was the only thing we got this night, this review would be much different. Next we got our soup and salad. My husband got the stopper salad and became of how tender it was. He said he could've got it out. I have the Clam-Chowder that was a premium page????, which means it was an extra $2.50. I was disappointed by how tiny the bowl was, and even more disappointed after tasting. It tasted like it came from a cafeteria. Not good. Next came the main course. My husband has the main rib that was amazing. You did a good job here. He also got the loaded pommes (an extra $2.50 fee... and they were underwhelmed to say the least. Hardly any cheese placed on a bell of acid cream over the frits. My almond-crusted chicken could have come from a diner. Nasty is the best word to describe it. It was served over rice, which made hardly any appearance. With how cheap rice is, I would have expected more than the 1/4 cup I was given. It was also watery. I have the loaded baked potato (still another premium page with a $2.50 charge. It was ok, but my husband gave me the sour cream from his pommes to not be so dry. The bright place of the evening was our server. I wish I had taken note of her name because she was very sweet, attentive and friendly. I appreciate the attention she gave us in the first part of our visit, and the freedom to eat and talk uninterruptedly when our food arrived. I'll leave this review to show me that. I'll take care of the good people of E. Idaho. Don't come here to your chic dinner. Go somewhere else. It's not worth the $100 bill. Mitchell 's or Smitty 's would have served a better meal.
What a great restaurant! We happened to be driving through Idaho Falls, unfamiliar with the area, decided to stop at Jakers for dinner. I'm so glad we did. We were greeted by a friendly hostess and later by an even friendlier server. She was polite and spoke to us with candor about the wait times in the kitchen and what items to try. The rolls and butter she brought out started the meal. The rolls were hot and tasty. The butter served with it had a lovely sweetness that I was unfamiliar with but found delightful. We had steak bites as an appetizer. It came in a dish to spoon out out in crustini that had a bit of garlic butter on them. It was delicious. The steak bites had a great chew to them and weren't rubbery at all. The mushrooms that accompanied them were great as well. With my entree I opted for the lobster bisque. The bisque was hearty and flavorful. It made me wish they had an option to serve the bisque as an entree because I would be tempted to get that. My dinner came shortly after. I indeed the Cowboy Steak, 28 oz of awesome beef along with a tasty loaded potato that was a bit larger than a softball. The value was right on point with what we received, and frankly, could've easily charged more for the great food and wonderful staff. I will return whenever I'm able. Great place!
Jakers prices are a little on the high side, but are well worth it. Very good selection, large portions, and meat cooked as ordered. You might want to split the salads as they are very large! I was very much impressed with the Prime rib. Atmosphere is great and staff was right on top of things.
