The food was good, though a bit pricey. I am vegetarian and tend to be fine with vegan, but was a bit skeptical about paleo. There were definitely reasonable options, and the pancakes that I got were good. View all feedback.
What Edwardo Powlowski doesn't like about Paleo Cafe Adelaide:
Business has changed hands. A lot of the paleo meals have disappeared from the menu. I had fried eggs (that were served burnt, should have been re-cooked) & because the spinach hadn't been drained everything was floating in 3mm of fluid! No butter for the sourdough either :( The bacon was generous & beautiful despite being wet & the truss tomatoes were delicious. Instead of offering to replace the eggs, the response... I've enjoyed some good food around Adelaide and normally i'd only take a picture if it was really good but this opportunity has me snapping even the boring...
I didn't realise that the Paleo Cafe had changed hands. I was excited by this prospect. Unfortunately my big breakfast was underwhelming to say the least. There was no toast and as a result everything was swimming in a pool of liquid from the undrained spinach. My wife's smashed avo was stingy, especially at $17.50. Having said this, the servings on my plate were generous. Lastly, my coffee was bland and weak. Won't be back.
Scrambled egg for breakfast was so over cooked it looked like a Frittata. Zucchini and Sweet Potato fritters were dry and tasteless. Coffee was OK. No care or passion in their offering so no reason to go back.
This restaurant is only open until 4:00p.m. and the kitchen closes at 3:00p.m. for cooked meals. Ordered a chicken schnitzel for lunch and it was the smallest one that I have ever had. Entree sized, slightly over cooked and definitely not worth $21:00 dollars. Saw other meals come out and they certainly were not substantial for the prices that they are charging. Will not be going back again.
