This sandwich place is an old part of the community. It's a great place to take a break from shopping and get lunch. It's nothing fancy, but it's good at the basics. The hot sandwiches are really just cooked on a panini press, so skip the tuna melt and the cuban sandwich if you're looking for classic versions of those. View all feedback.
Carter and Cooley is a great local deli located on 19 streets in the heights. I've been there many times after I checked the nearby shops and always enjoyed my food. It is refreshing this day and age to go to a sandwich place that is not guided by a large chain. My favorite sandwich there is the BLT and it is even better when eaten on warm wheat bread. The only complaint I have is that the prices are quite high for what you get. It's hard to justify $10 for a BLT with potato salad. It's definitely delicious, but it would be better if it was a little cheaper.

Really delicious sandwiches !!! All the ingredients taste really fresh I highly recommend Carter Cooley.
This is a classic sandwich deli located in the heights. What can I say? The sandwiches are generously sized and made with fresh ingredients, so you can't go wrong here. I particularly enjoy the club sandwich and the ham and Swiss, but I’m excited to try more options in the future. One thing to note is that parking can be challenging, so it’s best to arrive early or be prepared to wait a bit.
The food is incredible! It has the charm of a classic Houston sandwich shop. There's a nostalgic photo of the Heights that adds to the ambiance.
