Your basic local diner off a main road. Good option in the area where you won't wait long or pay insane prices. Food is what you would expect from a diner. Diner was clean, looks newly renovated, spacious. View all feedback.
What Austin D doesn't like about Red Lion Diner:
I used to be a frequent visitor for decades until a recent change in ownership. Ever since, the overall quality of service and food has declined. I went there with my family last Sunday and we ended up leaving after waiting 1.5 hours for our food that never came out. Like many things these days, it's not as good as it used to be unfortunately. This place has really gone down hill since Gus sold it. The food is mediocre, at best. The wait staff leaves something to be desired, unless you're lucky enough to go there on a day when Shirley the waitress works. Seems like they have a different cook every day. Some good, others not so good. Plus, they close now at 9:00 pm. Just too many other places in the area to eat at that are consistent.

Not what it used to be. Dirty walls and booth, wires hanging out of the ceiling, three different people were trying to take our order. The pancakes were chewy (over-mixed? , tomato juice tasted funny, and the TV just plays ads, one of which it was for a gastroenterologist! Ugh, I hate leaving negative reviews especially when the owners were very nice.
The note on the door said they have changed their hours and your food might take longer because of staff shortages. There were more servers on staff than customers in the restaurant at 1230pm on a Thursday. I splurged for the chicken fingers entree(14.99) and received 4 of the 6 listed chicken fingers with my meal. I had ordered with sweet and sour sauce as indicated on the menu. I got honey mustard. I had ordered corn and mashed potatoes, my food came out with no sides. When I received the corn, it was apparent that it had been (over) microwaved and the mashed potatoes were rushed out of the kitchen cold with luke warm gravy on them. Never a thought to refill my beverage from the server. They were out of swiss cheese. As a former restaurant owner if I ran out of swiss cheese I would go and buy some. You would do better to go to one of the diners closer to street road, this place is pretty gnarly.
I think this might have changed owners recently? I noticed a lot of changes to the menu, mostly the addition of some Indian fare. I would love it if they leaned into it and had more Indian dishes but it felt forced. I got the omelet and felt like they just put some cilantro on a regular omelet. I have high hopes that they can make the changes to the menu work and be something really good, so I will be back soon to try again.
